This is a question for Dave or Admin--
I notice that I promptly (immediately) receive a notice for MarketPlace orders via email now, which did not occur in late summer. Just a question--are the buyer's also promptly receiving notices via their email that we have replied to them with shipping/payment info? I realize that they may still not respond--but was curious.
Debbie
You mean to transition to an instant email and stop the dmails? I think I like the way it is now, as we try to keep things in dmail as much as possible. E-Mail is so unreliable (what with spam blockers, etc) but dmail works every single time.
Not necessarily--I just meant I liked the fact I get and instant email (as a seller) as well as a dmail. It prompts me to come over here and handle the sale. I just thought it might make a nice prompt for them too when we FIRST respond to their initial sale. After that, it can all be handled by dmail.
But like you say--if they don't receive their email, then its all for nothing.
Am I making any sense today? I definitely have days when I will admit, I'm not the master of communications.
You are making perfect sense. :) There was a day when email was extremely reliable, and then came spam and then came the solutions to spam that basically destroyed email's reliability.
We send out tens of thousands of emails a week and you wouldn't believe how many of them simply don't reach their destination. AOL is the worst, but other ISP's are bad, too.

Agreed, and that's the only reason why your excellent idea just isn't practical, alas.
