Since I live in zone 5, it was probably a little crazy of me to place an order for Amaryllis on Jan. 18, but I couldn't resist the sale prices at Happy Holler Gardens. They were very good about holding the bulbs until there was a break in the weather and they arrived today looking very good. They refunded my payment for Exotica which was one I really wanted, but it was already growing and I asked that they not send ones with more than 1/2 of stem showing because of the danger of freezing. Here is my Queen of Sheba. It is the size of a large egrapefruit.
