| Hi Jo! Thanks for reading, and for your comment. I meant to put more links for sources for ingredients in there, but you know (I'm sure) that you can buy all of these things online as well. |

| Jo that's the first step to recovery, admitting you're a "holic"of any kind!!!

| The second step is identifying WHICH component of chocolate you're addicted to: the sugar, the fat, or the chocolate. Do some extensive testing to determine this. |

| Another chocoholic checking in... on her way to the kitchen to go mix up a batch.
Thanks for a great article, Carrie--loved learning all that history of my favorite food! |

| Okay, back from the kitchen--what a hit! Displaying their customary good taste, my kids prefer this strongly to the insty-mixes. I think I'll be making this one often--thanks again, Carrie! |

| LOL Jo...a big ole AMEN!! I have NO desire to recover from being a Chocoholic or a Plantaholic! My "kids" (16 - 22) turn their noses up to mixes...it's always been that way! If we even hear "snow" in the forecast...a whole gallon of milk gets dumped into a huge pot and in goes the sugar and cocoa...YUM-MEEEE |

| Carrie, I guess I should say I'm a mochaholic -- I like my cocoa in my coffee. For snacking chocolate -- this is gonna sound SOooo weird -- I like the hard stuff: dark chocolate. It's kind of nice because whenever a friend gets a box of 'mixed' chocolates I get all the unwanted dark ones. Cool [cocoa] beans!

| Three cheers for dark chocolate! You all know that "white chocolate" has no chocolate, and only sometimes cocoa butter? Now we're in vogue, next month we may be out but we don't care - we like the cocoa in chocolate, not the sugar. Right? |

| I'm glad you mentioned white chocolate -- the term always sounded like an oxymoron to me, but I never thought to look up 'why' it's called that... Sort of like decaf coffee: if not for the java jolt, why would you want it? Oh, and I wanted to tell you I printed out your article so I could give my milk-chocolate-only friend some calorie-free chocolate for Valentine's Day. Your article was SO timely! Thanks again.

| We do things for a reason here at DG - this is "Chocolate Week!" Maybe if you tell your friend that there are only 12 (twelve) calories in a tablespoon of dark, rich, unsweetened cocoa, s/he'll see the light dark. Thanks for the compliment! |

| Well... That explains a lot. I was just starting to notice how good the cuisine is here at Dave's Cafe, uh, I mean garden. My milk-chocolate-only friend is a free-spirited, red-hat type octogenarian who's not about to change now. Really, I don't think she's much of a cocoa drinker; but a lot of her friends know how much she likes chocolate candy and they give her a good supply for every occasion (that's why I don't feel bad about getting the leftovers). You wouldn't think eating all that chocolate would be very healthy, but she does seem to be remarkably spry for her age. She doesn't do the Internet but I often print out DG articles for her that I think would be of interest and she seems to enjoy getting them.
Keep up the good work, Carrie and all of you DG writers! Your work is greatly appreciated.

| It's on the back burner for now...high blood pressure, don't you know...but the Middle School age kids at my church are having a "Chocolate Fantasy" on Saturday...money raiser...and I have made fudge for that...and I'm sure I will spend the $6 bucks to do the all-you-can-eat chocolate thingy.
*praying: Dear Lord help me keep my BP down for this...*Jo |
