And isn't it interesting! I had no idea about some of the stuff I dug up (until I dug it up, of course). Chili and pepper? Apparently it is still served that way in some parts of Mexico and Texas.

I have never tried chile pepper in hot cocoa, but I have added about 1/8 teaspoon of cayenne pepper to chocolate chip cookies. It added just a little extra something, not unlike cinnamon, and no one could guess what the "secret" ingredient was.

Very clever, Kelli! Although chocolate chip cookies were not one of my heart healthy recommendations! I'll have to tell my kids, who are not old enough yet to be concerned about their hearts, except in a purely romantic sense.
