This offer is now CLOSED. Thanks to all who responded... I hope your seeds are growing well for you!
I have a good number of pepper seeds that I'd like to share. Many are commercial seeds that another DGer sent to me last year so I could repackage them and share them around. There are at least 10 seeds per "sampler" packet.
I've been mulling over how to do this, and here's what I'd like to try.. it'll be sort of like a round robin, only without actually mailing a box around. :-)
I may edit these details if needed, so check back with this post if you have questions, or ask below.
Step 1: Sign up on this thread. We will start off with a limit of 10 people. US residents only, please, because I don't want to deal with customs stuff.
Step 2: I will post a list of available seeds. There are only 1 or 2 packs available of some of the varieties, and there are a couple dozen varieties, so I think it would quickly get confusing if everybody posted on the thread to say what they'd like. Here's what we'll do instead:
Step 3. In order, I will Dmail each person on the list , and you will be able to pick up to 9 varieties from the list. (I may increase that number once I count up the packs; if so, I will edit this post.) I'll cross those packs off the list and Dmail the next person. Obviously, it's important that you try to get back to me ASAP, so we can move this along quickly. I'd like to get these packets out early next week. Please take the time to look up the varieties in advance, so you know what you might like.
Step 4: Pay postage/packing of $2 via PayPal. On a small amount like this, it's cheaper for you to PayPal me than to spend a stamp to send me postage. You may use a credit card or a PP balance/transfer (PP charge has been included). You can wait until you've made your picks (in case you decide to drop out), but please pay postage promptly when I send you my PP address. Please enter your address into PayPal, as that seems to be the only way I've found to do 18 cent delivery confirmation on a first class packet.
I am not trying to come out ahead on the postage/packing, but I don't want to come out behind either. My post office has recently started charging "parcel" postage for all bubble envelopes. Seeds are packed in little zip-top bags with laser printed label slips. You'll get a new bubble envelope, and I plan to use delivery confirmation if I can do so for 18 cents. If I end up with a small amount left over, I will put it into the "kitty" to send seeds to newbies or storm survivors.
OK... Who wants to play?
A note for those who participated in my recent HPS Pepper Seed Co-op.
I do understand pepper obsession and "gotta have it" when you see a variety you want, but I'd rather let people who didn't take part in the co-op have first crack at these seeds. I'll try to do a second "clean out the seedbox" offer that will probably have single packs of a whole lot of varieties, including some of the ones below.
So, let's say that co-op people can post on the thread but will be bumped down the list as non-co-op participants sign up. If we get 10 "other" participants, the slots will be filled. Co-op participants who got bumped can be first on the list for the next offer I do (if I don't run out of steam -- no promises there!). Hope that seems fair.
