was not quick enough to get a pic.
There were 7 birds that landed in a tree top across from my house this afternoon.
Medium sized like a mocking bird in body shape.
Very pronounced black 'mask' like a cardinal. Belly was yellowish like guilden's mustard, the rest of the body was light gray like a submarine. Sorry--not a true birder. The last distinctive feature was a crest. All seven the same. Did not hear any call. They all landed like choreography in unison and fled the same way.

Any clues? I have searched the web for hours and closest I came was fly catchers and none had the coloration/mask/crest that I saw.

thank you
