This was referenced in our Garden History items today but I can't find anything about it. Has anyone heard of this book?

Interesting -- I googled his name and all that came up were similar entries from various "today in history" type lists... and this Wiki short about Mihaly Fazekas (different spelling):

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mihály_Fazekas

Would be most interesting to learn more about his book of spices... Maybe it was really Fazekas who wrote it? Fazekas was a writer... I did not check yet if the date is the same...

Is this like, did Shakespeare really write all that or was it another person of the same name? LOL!

It looks like we may have picked up on a misspelling. I've corrected it for next year ;o)

Well, you were sure in good company! Anyway, I do wonder if that book ever got translated out of the Hungarian, it would be truly fascinating to explore!

Terry I don't know if we will every discover anything more about the book but thanks for picking up on this one. Do you have help with the garden history items (I hope)? Also if members find items that might be of interest should we just do the 'contact us' tabhickey?

We actually compiled it ahead of time (we don't do it day-by-day.) So we have a storehouse of about 1,200 daily birthdays, deaths, weather phenomena, and hort/ag tidbits to share ;o)

If you see we've missed an important gardening event, you're welcome to send it to us and we'll add it. Or if you just have some ideas, we can go through them and add anything we don't already have on file.

We try ;o) But if you know of something that we might have missed, we'd love to hear from you--I'm still adding new "stuff" to the list on a fairly regular basis.
