I grew up in San Diego and Balboa Park was one of my haunts...I remember the Palm Canyon and the lush plants at the zoo. Makes me pine for San Diego...

Thanks for the beautiful tour! I've never been there myself, but it was a favorite destination of my grandmother's when she lived in Monterey to take the family and her scouts. I can see why!

I was there last October - visiting the zoo was the only "fun thing" I allowed myself to do when I was in San Diego for a conference. It was great! The carnivorous plant bog was really cool. I think I took more pictures of plants than animals when I was at the zoo.
