Sad News

Gardening lost one of it's premier members Tuesday.
Charlie Berger passed.
For those of you in the Cincy area Clara and Charlie's gardens are legend.
She designed and Charlie did.

Always delightful and always w/ a twinkle in his eye he was a joy to talk to.
He didn't know a lot about the individual plants (he said) but you knew he was just so proud of the garden he wanted Clara to shine and show it off.
He just liked being a host.

A few years back Charlie was telling us about his life after retirement.
He said every day Clara gave him a full day of gardening projects to attend to... and if he worked real hard... he could drink from the hose...extra hard he got to break for lunch!

Our Gardening season always starts w/ a trip to Clara's Hellebore Sale.
This year will be bitter sweet.

Sad news indeed Bro...I have lived vicariously for a few years now thru your photos, since I was never able to get there...

My Condolences to Clara and the Family...
