I bought 3 peonies this past fall. I have not been able to get them in the ground until now. I left them in the bag (opened) and put them in my GH. I went to get them out today and they were barely "soft" the eyes on them were hard. I KNOW I should have planted them when I was supposed to and I could kick myself for not doing so. They were not cheap either. Do they have a chance at all? I'm not expecting blooms. I just want them to live. I planted them and watered them anyway. It was warm enough for me to get out there and get them in the ground. We are not done with cold weather but not for very long until it starts to warm up. Do they have a chance???
