I grew this gourd and it caved in and rotted, but this is what I was able to do with it. Don't know if I'll patina it black or not, maybe patina it in silver.. I kind of like the silver look on it with the solder.

this is the before picture, it is 20 inches long and 20 inches in diameter.. Spring is around the corner...

Gourd, How pretty!!!! Wouldn't it be awesome to put a small light, kind of like a night lite inside. That would be beautiful !!!! You could buy a cheap nite-lite at Walleyworld and put in inside and you would have a priceless piece of art???

I just got back, you know, I put a flash light inside last night to see how it looked and it looks neat with a light inside. It is going to be a birdhouse though, I'm dying to make another one soon. Thank you for the compliment...

Gourd, that is beautiful.Have your tried the turquoise patina?
I think that would be nice to. You really came up with a good idea.

Ooooh, I didn't know there was a turquoise patina, where do they sell that? I'm going to google and see if I find some. Thank you for the compliment...

Oh Thank you Betty, if it wasn't for you, I wouldn't have tried stained glass. I can only imagine how yours will look, you are very good at stained glass.
