| I'm making a mosiac teapot and was wondering what is the best glue to use when applying the china to the silver pot?
Thanks everyone! |

| I think the E6000 glue would work, it is used also when gluing pendants to gold or silver bails. It runs 3.99 at Hobby Lobby but I am sure it is sold at hobby stores/lumber supply places. You just use a little but it is a permanent bond and requires 24 hours to completely set. It does state on there that you should sand or roughen up the back of the pendant and bail so that the glue can attach itself stronger.
You could sand your teapot some and then use the glue. Hopefully someone else will check in.

| Thanks Gourd! I have some of that and will give it a try. I was thinking I would need a two part epoxy (what a pain), but will see how the E6000 works.
Loveshorses, I'll take pics of my progress and let y'all know how it comes out. |

| Actually I didn't have any E6000 so I got some Liquid Nails. Seems to be working well. I've got all the pieces glued on and plan to grout tonight. What a project this has been! I've definintely decided that I won't be making a living creating mosaics!!
I'll be adding this project to my blog and will post some pics here also (and a link to my blog if that's allowed). |

| Ok. I finished the teapot. Not greatly pleased with it, but of course the first try is sometimes disappointing. I'll post pictures as soon as possible and had started preparing a post for my blog but got sidetracked due to my son having an accident over the weekend. I'm now taking care of him and my 3 yr old grandson for several weeks. If I get a chance, I'll put the pics on my flashdrive and download them at work. That's the only time I have free right now!! |

| Here's a pic of the teapot (actually a coffee pot). I still need to clean it up some and seal the grout. I'm making this for my sil and she gets to shop for the lampshade. Also, the lid of the coffee pot had a small "handle" thingie for opening the pot. I had to cut that piece off and I think my brother will be able to drill some threads in it so we can use it for a finial for the lampshade!
I think I cut the tiles too small. When I make another one (and I will), I'll make the tiles larger.

| Oh my goodness, that looks just great.
I have a couple of teapots that are pewter and one silver, maybe I'll get motivated to do something with them since they are in boxes.. When I got the pewter teapots, I didn't know we could not use them. And the vendors in SA don't tell you or they didn't know. Either way, I'm stuck with them.
