As an organic gardener, my spraying needs are unusual. I use horticultural oil in Jan-Feb on hollies, etc., to ward off scale. I don't spray for blackspot, etc. on roses. But, I really need to find a better delivery method for Sprint, seaweed and fish emulsions, molasses, etc to my beds. I've tried every type of hose-end sprayer (a waste of time and money), etc. What I want to dissolve and spray onto my beds just won't work in typical garden center sprayers.
For some time I've been considering buying an expensive battery-operated, rolling sprayer (no backpacks or hand-held sprayers would work for me). I've studied the SpotShot sprayer used by many rosarians but am unsure if it would work for my needs. Nor can I find anything that addresses my issues on the internet.
The seven-gallon SpotShot is larger than I really require (and is pricey) but seems to have the power and type of diaphragm needed to spray oil or powdered types of solution. Has anyone on this site used one? Would it work for my application needs? Keep in mind how hard fish emulsion and other sorts of concentrate are to dissolve. I'd need an easy to clean valve and spray mechanism for it to work.
