I had to smile at your post. My son is an advanced mathematician and fractals have captured his attention - as does anything with an equation. However, I am NOT a mathematician but have noticed that 'natural' fractals fascinate me such as the pattern on dragonfly wings or on maple tree seeds (a.k.a helicopters), to name only two of infinite examples. I could care less about an equation that goes with any but rather take joy in noticing that our wonderfully created environment holds so many patterns more advanced than any equation could ever replicate. Plus, it's much easier on my non-mathematical brain! I think we all enjoy fractals in some form or another.
