I do butterfly units each year, too, and the students love them! At the end of the year, I always have my students write or dictate about their favorite thing from the past year, and invariably the butterflies rank right up there in the top 5! I also helped my own kids collect caterpillars in our own little butterfly garden, and we raised about 35 common buckeye butterflies last year! It is an unforgettable experience!
