Isn't the point of selling on DG to SELL on DG and not to send buyers to EBAY?

Oh I'm sure that was not at all the intention of the Marketplace. Have you made Terry or Dave aware of this?

Especially when you consider it's a lot less expensive for us to sell products on DG than it is on eBay. I'd rather keep my customers here than send them off-site.

I agree she should list the items for sale on MarketPlace rather than just putting in a link to her eBay store.

However, if the item is properly listed for sale on MarketPlace, I see nothing wrong with directing buyers to her eBay store via a link in the ad if they are interested in seeing the other items she has for sale. Lots of sellers on MarketPlace include a link to their own web site stores, so why should it be wrong/different if a seller's store is on eBay?

Note that her total feedback is 28, so she is a total newbie on eBay.

I'm a buyer. She/he has a lot I would like to have but will not buy from her as I want nothing to do with Ebay.
When Marketplace was set up,most of the discussion was about it being such a good idea to get away from Ebay.
Having a link to their site to me is not the same as linking to an auction site. I personally think Ebay does not belong on Dave's.

If they've posted things in the marketplace, I would assume that you can buy them through the marketplace if you don't want to go through Ebay. (and if they won't let you buy through the marketplace, then definitely let Dave or the admins know about it)

There is no description, no way to buy on DG, just a link to go to Feebay. That is probably not a good idea as many will not buy off ebay, like pfllh.

I'm not sure what you mean about there's no way to buy on DG--I see the buy it now button just like you see on all the other marketplace items, I don't think there's any way to post an item in the marketplace without having that button there to let people buy it. There's the separate issue that they seem to be encouraging people to go to Ebay instead, but I don't see any reason why you can't buy it here if you'd prefer to.

They couldn`t bypass the marketplace system if they tried. The person must of their own free will go to visit the link.

Everyone who has a webstore has a link in the upper right hand corner where they can go somewhere else besides the DG marketplace to "buy it now".

There is nothing in the tutorial to instruct a new seller that links to ebay(or anywhere else) isn`t allowed.

So, maybe as a solution DG could put a ban on all auction oriented links while it is still allowed to post other non auction webstore links where the product can be found?

Good,it wouldn`t be fair to allow outside auctions in the marketplace.

I hope the store profile links in the upper right corner will continue to be allowed. I like checking other people`s stores full inventory for sales and good deals.

You have many sellers on the MarketPlace that are really just ebay sellers--they are the ones flooding the pages and ours get lost, then they complain when we repost. But they aren't at all involved in any other way on Dave's.

I agree, just plunking in a link for people to go buy somewhere else and not bothering with a good description of the product isn`t very good marketplace etiquette.

A tutorial for etiquette is a suggestion.
