Great warning! Also, going back into history a little, I'm sure whoever had the brilliant idea to plant kudzu thought they were solving a lot of problems. And bamboo.

We've seen the same sad phenomenon with exotic pets as you've outlined with some of our exotic plant species. A year or so ago, we had 2 separate tiger attacks in the same day in our area! And who will soon forget the horror of the recent chimpanzee attack in the news.

Thanks for the warning! I've always enjoyed the early spring beauty of the Bradford pear trees I've seen in other people's yards and didn't know the down side. So many times our decisions are based on what's on that tiny card attached to the saplings we buy.
