In a dedicated herb garden, have you mixed in spring blooming bulbs such as crocus, muscari, chionodoxa, puschkinia, scilla, galanthus and eranthis hyemalis?
In lawns, do creeping herbs smother spring blooming bulbs?
I'm thinking of doing parts of the lawn in Roman Chamomile ( anthemis nobilis), Corsican Mint ( mentha requienii )and a thyme (thymus serpyllum) "The Thyme Garden" says only grows 1/2 inch tall.
Can I forget about what is hiding underneath? Will my spring bulbs come up next year?
To expand it a bit, what is your experience in planting other things in the herb garden? Anyone have an eggplant or pepper mixed in? Or vice versa, does anyone put a mix of herbs in their vegetable garden?
