I just started candle making and buying wax at Walmart is getting real expensive at $2.50 a pound. I'm in Florida and shipping may make it tough.Anyone got a good supplier? Thanks for your help Don
Have you checked with your local beekeepers or companies that process honey for beekeepers? They'll usually cut you a pretty good deal, especially if you buy several pounds at a time. The ones around here (Denver) do, anyway. You might want to spend a little extra to get processed (cleaned) wax. Otherwise you'll have to melt it and strain out bee bits and whatever.
I buy mine from Nuscent candles. http://www.nuscentscandle.com/ They ship fast and sell soy or paraffin based candles. Their prices are also reasonable.
