I have a lot of bulbs that I purchased last fall from Old House Gardens (allium, tulips, hyacinths, fritillary) and we had some unusually warm weather in late February that I'm afraid screwed up my little bulbs internal clocks! There are lots of sprouts and a few of the bulbs (I think they are the allium) are over 6 inches tall. Some of the hyacinths are upwards of 3 inches. Just foliage. Will my bulbs be okay? We are supposed to get a freeze tonight and since it is March in Chicago, this weather could very well keep up for at least another month. I have covered the big ones with overturned clay pots since I'm paranoid now. Help!
