i am taking on a project which includes contructing a plasterboard fire barrier in my roofspace. would like to know if there are regulations surrounding the sealing of the fire barrier at the floor joists and roof sarking boards. I am lead to believe that the bottom rail of my fire wall will just sit on the floor joists and will be erected hard against the roof sarking boards. i am going to construct this in
metal stud partition form with a double sheeting of fireline plasterboard. would like some advice on the regulations rguarding the sealing (if any required) of the firebarrier at the point where they meet the sarking boards and the if any surronding joists or trusses also need a plasterboard protective covering?
