I have 2 Jimmy Nardellos in a tray with Pablanos and Puyas. The JN didn't germinate well and the tray was in a back corner of the greenhouse that was hard to access. They were all potted up at the same time and I started some more JN. The JN leaves started looking pitiful, deformed and stunted while the others looked fine. The second planting yielded only one plant and it was at the opposite end of the GH. It also started looking pitiful so I concluded that something was wrong with that batch of seed. I have plenty of different varieties scattered all over the GH that are looking great. I've applied Sevin dust twice as a preventive.
The weather has been mild since 3/02 and is forecasted to continue. Rain is moving in so I decided to carry all my trays outside for a good flushing. The Jimmy Nardellos are loaded with aphids. I must need my glasses changed. They were all under the leaves and thick on the stems while the Sevin was thick on the leaf surfaces. Evidently they agree with most of you that JN is a very fine cultivar because they rejected all my others. Beware!
