Starting at 36.
Looking for 60 + today.
Above normal all week.
Outdoor work will commence today.

Do you have to put up with the stupid singing fish commercial for McDonald's ?
I am ready to put McDonald's on my do not shop there list!
I spent a whole weekend a number of years ago at an antique show listening to one of them dumb singing fish! I certainly don't need it on my TV!
I am going to search for a place on the net to complain.

Have a nice day!

Haven't seen/heard that one and I don' wanna! And, yes, I'm taking lessons. Monty is an excellent teacher.

Our weather site lies. It's says that it's 50 and that the high today will be 47. I'm going with the news and will welcome 64, instead. It's slightly overcast and breezy.

Monty's fur being ruffled by the breeze.

I missed that commercial... apparently it's just as well. :-)

Bernie, did you mean do I like Texas, or did I pick Texas to beat Minnesota? Of all of the Texas teams, I follow the University of Texas the most - just because my dh went there (and not because he cares... he doesn't pay any attention to sports except to keep me amused - or to laugh at me while I'm screaming at the tv. LOL) I did pick Minnesota to beat Texas (with my fingers crossed..), and to beat Binghamton (cuz one of the little guys always seem to win at least one round, and this hasn't been Duke's year). But I have UCLA beating Minnesota in the next round. (Which means nothing... I'm usually pretty bad at picking games! LOL)

Yayyy for ND State, NDFarmGirl!! ^_^

Ric, you're warmer than we are again! It's only 55 here. It'll be in the 70s by this afternoon, though, and in the 80s tomorrow.

Cloudy with areas of light snow. Little snow accumulation.
Highs in the mid teens to lower 20s.

Sharon: thanks for the new thread. We had a little fog this morning. My daughter's husband says it is the Favor Of God! A nice way to look at it!
Pea and Prissy have their bags all packed and are ready for the move!!LOL
EB: love the maple syrup photo--makes me want to eat some pancakes!! LOL

Okay, I missed something--blackberry crisp--sounds yummy--is it the same thing as blackberry cobbler?

Bernie: I don't think Friday would make much of a cow dog--he is afraid of them! LOL I haven't seen the commercial with the fish but I have seen those fish in various flea markets--stupid, indeed! LOL
Ric and Celia: nice crocus(and other spring flowers, too, Ric)
Celia: Monty is still king of the house, it appears--and the patio, too! LOL
Pepper: sure hope you are feeling better--what a miserable way to spend a weekend!
wow, Kiska: ice hanging from the gutters--glad it's there and not here!
Farmgirl: the snowmobiles surely come in handy up there where you live!

A gorgeous day for the drive home today. We are in the mid-60's with sunshine!! Heading for the mid-70's tomorrow. Yes!! I'll take it!! :o))

Very nice day here. But still to muddy to get excited about doing much. Lots of seeds got planted in greenhouse trays & also some seedlings transplanted. Hostas will get potted up tomorrow.

Sharon: Would hate to be the owner of that car with the sunroof LOL

Sad to say, the people who came to see the house didn't come up with an offer anywhere close to what we could accept. In fact I thought it was an insult after all the nice things they said about our house. I don't think they can qualify, and if they are looking for a certain price range, then they should stick to looking at homes in that price range. Now we are back to square one. It's a tough tough market out there. I was very dissapointed.

You actually like roundabouts, Sharon? "They" have put several of them in the city of Conway, AR in the past couple of years(where I lived previously) I hate em! Hope the mud dries fairly fast, I have things to do!

I'll go for coffee with the guys first.

Did those people come to your house with a real estate agent ? If so, you would think the agent would only show them houses they could afford.
What are houses selling for there ? Here they have dropped anywhere from $20,000 to $50,000. That is the houses that were in the $190,000 to $270,000 range. $120,000 to $160,000 have held their price. Probably because of the interest rate & being affordable for more people.
Good Luck!

Almost forgot, robins are here this morning. Has to be migrating ones because there are lots of them.

The weather has finally truned fairly nice. It was really foggy this morning, but the fog has gone. We had a Monster T-Storm last night. It was Great! Altho, it scares Jack. It's supposed to get up into the 60's today. :D All of my little flowers are peeking thru! Daff's & Naked Ladies, Lilies & Irises...

For those of you who don't know about Jack...here goes. Last Wed. Morning (early) he was sleeping outside our bedroom window. He woke me up, barking like mad...in kill mode. I thought that the 'big cat' had gotten him, when in fact he had killed a raccoon. I had never (& hope never again) heard such an aweful noise in my life! He left his prize kill in the driveway @ 3:00am. DH & I bagged it & put it in the trash can, called the vet in the morning & took it to her. She sent it off & called us on Thur. to tell us it was rabid. Jack didn't have a scratch on him, but he had chewed it up, while shaking it like a rag doll. He is now in quarantine next door @ DB's & will have to stay there for 45 days. No more running for him until the end of April. ~ Needless to say we (& neighbors) are on the look out for more raccoons!
On a lighter note...JW got his 1st hair cut the other day! He looks soooo very cute! :D And yes I think I'll turn him into a 'little gardener'! He loves being outside, so I will make sure that he 'works' the soil w/ grammy!

Jackie, Where did you find the doll!? It's gorgeous!
Sharon! LOL I'm part Irish, too. My dad said that Irish & Indian doesn't mix well. LOL My Chemistry Prof. told me the same thing! He's All Irish.
Marsue, how is your BIL doing? I haven't read any of the posts...guess you can tell, huh? I'm going out today to check on my Amaryllis. It wasn't peeking thru the other day when I checked my flowers, but maybe today...
Celia, That's a ruff way to learn about 'leaving the top down'! (snickering softly)
Marylyn, did you ever find your cat?

Have a Great Day!

JW fix!!! LOL Thanks, Joey. He just keeps getting better looking. Sorry about Jack. We had a rabies scare with my DD some years ago. She was bitten by a neighborhood dog whom we later found out had never had his shots. It was an unprovoked (sp?) attack and the dog was put down. His brain biopsy showed no rabies. Let's hope Jack prvoes clear of it.

I found this while following the site that Sharon provided. If there are manufacturing marks, you might be able to ID it here...

Just a wild guess about the doll - I'd guess that the outfit was Belgian or French, though the doll could have been made anywhere. I'd think if she were Scandinavian, she would be blonde. As I said, just a wild guess.

I'm a little bit Irish, though it might be only Scots-Irish. I don't know if that is considered real Irish or not. Growing up, we did have potatoes every day, though. I hope Jack will be all right.

Seasonably unseasonable - In other words, we can get a hot spell at any time.

They didn't mention anything about "Tarzan" at that park, so those movies must have been made elsewhere, though probably somewhere within an hour's drive of here.

Thanks for all the info/doll. I've not had time to investigate the link in detail but looks as there's lots to go on. Thanks, kwanjin for that link, too. History of the doll:
My dad was in Europe during WWII. The Group he was with, were in: England, France, Germany and Belgium. He sent the doll to mom from one of those countries in the mid-40's. Mom had kept it wrapped in tissue paper and I've recently put it in a display case. As far as I can tell, there are no markings. Her face is composition; body soft, hands plastic/like.. The outfit is made of a heavy felt. Her face looks to be hand-painted. I certainly regret that I'd never asked questions about her.
Music2Keep~JW's photos show a very happy little boy; what a sweetie.
kelli~seeing those sites now sure brings back memories of old movies.

Okay, Celia--how did you do that?
Gee, Bernie! You really were warm yesterday!! 71--wow!!
Kiska: nice doll and nice story, too. I used to collect dolls and most of them had markings on the back of the neck. I never had any really expensive ones, though.
Joey: thanks for the JW fix--he's so cute! My amaryllis are up about 3 inches but we are probably a little warmer than you are. Thanks for the St. Paddy's day link--I wonder what that "green brew" is? LOL So sorry about Jack's quarantine--hope everything turns out okay for him--and you.
Sharon: how's the move going? Just a few more days and I'll be down to Georgia!! :o))
Glad you found us again, Cindy! Yep, we are hard to keep up with--the "peeps" are chatty which makes it necessary to start new threads more than once a month.

We had fog this morning, too, but it burned off and the sun has been shining all afternoon. Currently 63 and very pleasant outside although a little windy.

Currently 23*F ~ sunshine is blinding as it's reflected off the snow.
Very windy, too.
Doll update: I learned the head may be of paper mach'e. The body is firmly stuffed, not really a soft body, and that if there are no identifying marks, it's very difficult to ID> I've gone through over 1000 photos on an antique/vintage doll site, through Fliker. None like her. Anyway, it's time for a break from the research. Again, thanks for the leads.

Celia Thats an interesting picture! How did you do that?
Joey Drrrrink up! LOL!
Joey Irish and Indian dont mix well! Tell that to my GGGG- parents! LOL! JW is sooooo adorable!
Welcome CindyLove!
Mau The move is going slower than I anticipated. Its bad that Jeff and I dont have the same off days at work. Makes it that much more difficult to move furniture. Having the Concours here last weekend ruined move attempts because people were illegally parking on the roads and driveways. I couldnt park to unload the truck. Grrrrr
Kiska - That is a pretty doll. I found this link, you can ask questions from an expert.

Morning, everyone. The pic of the "ufo" is an airplane taken with the shutter open for about 3 seconds. I focus on the plane and the camera does the rest! LOL I'm going to go out when there is LESS light and try for some better ones. That was taken just after sunset.

Are you better Bernie and se_eds?

Looking for Adina and Rann. We miss you.

Cindy, welcome back!!! LOL It is hard to keep up with these people sometimes.

Well, MSN weather site is having issues lately. It lies and tells us the temps are going to be much lower than actual. Yesterday, it said it was 50 and the high would be 47. Today it says the high will be 52. Everyone else says 64. It's Dyson Dark and 38.

Nice clear morning, 32 & sun!

Actually dug a trench across the yard yesterday. I am redoing electric to one greenhouse. Wire wasn't buried right before. Also need to dig trench to new veggie barn to get electric over there. It digs easy right now. The one to the veggie barn will also have a water line.
Slowly but surely, I get things the way I want around here. We want to get a water line to the hen house also. Probably run a line off the one to veggie barn.

Finishing up a set of doors for a person that is redoing his bathroom. He is going to put veneer on the cabinet & so we built doors & drawer fronts for him. The new cabinets for the horse trailer are nearly done. All this stuff has polyurethane on it & so my job today is to sand it so final coat of poly can go on.

Later,

Flip: great pics of the baby birds!
Pepper: "They" said it was going to be in the high 70's here yesterday. "They" were wrong. ("Weather liars"--as Bernie calls them) Barely made it to the low 60's. :o((
Celia: you are so funny but "challenged", you aren't! LOL
Sharon: love the color of that flower!
Sounds like you have a long list of "to-do's", Bernie! :o)) You don't have to worry about that old saying: "idle hands are the devil's workshop"!

We'll see if the weather folk have it right for today. They are forecasting high 70's today and partly cloudy. I'm going to try to get outside and enjoy some of that warm air if I can tolerate the pollen floating around.

Here's a photo I took last week of a small woodpecker on my suet feeder. I think this is a downy woodpecker.

Beautiful day, 50 & sunny. NO WIND!!!

Sanding is all done, wire is buried to greenhouse.

Yesterday I put an ad on Craig's List for summer garden help. Phone is ringing steady. Must be lots of people with out work. This is only part time to. Now I will have to decide who will be best candidate. The guy that has been with us forever, I found by running an ad.
So who knows, maybe I can find another keeper.

It's nice I think I will work on the new greenhouse this afternoon. It's been wet out there, but looking drier now.

Jackie, good luck with the doll. Looks to me it could be worth a tidy sum.

Hi, guys! I'm here, thanks for asking about me! I missed you too! It's been busy arround here and I felt too exausted to post.
On Monday we went to Ikea with a friend who wanted to buy a table and 2 chairs. It is a custom in their county, Moldova(maybe you heard it called Moldavia)- a region of our country -when a man dies, the family has to "do a house" for him and give it for charity. This means they are actually figuring a room for the dead. She just lost her dad 40 days ago and this is when this custom has to take place. So, besides the table and 2 chairs, she has to give a carpet, a bed with sheets, cover and a pillow and 4 blankets, which are imagining the walls. So, we took her to Ikea to choose a table and the chairs, then took her back home with it. Of course, we walked through the store too and found a nice chair I can use to my desk in the study when I'm working on the laptop. It was about time because until now I have been using one of the chairs from the terrace and it was so short I had to put 2 pillows on the seat so I can reach the desk!LOL
That was for Monday...yesterday we went to buy some groceries for the next few weeks and that worn me out again...came home late and that was it. No... I had to finish an article too and I'm glad I finally did it!
Sharon, your doggies are so cute together! I wish you the yard sale goes well. They have to paint the ceiling with a special oil so it resists the humidity. Then they'll paint it with a transparent paint...sorry, I don't know if this is the right word for it!
Celia, what were those lights? Funny note! Is Darrel a sci-fi fan? I am, so I would have believed it!LOL
Mau, cute woodpecker! Friday and the cows, that was so funny! Were those cows small or so it seemed to me ?
Ric, spring is in your yard, yeah! Happy Belated Birthday for your Dad and many more! You sure will have so much work to do on Robyn's parents house...so exausting just to think about it !LOL
Marylyn, there is more work to be done on the ceiling. Bu t since it's been raining these days, the workers didn't come yet. They are also going to fix the rain pipes which aren't well d one and the water comes down on the ground and makes holes. I have to keep containers under the pipes...but it's hard, especially when the wind blows. That is so funny, if you could see me ! I have to go several times a day out in the rain and change the containers position, according to the wind's direction...grrrr! Can you picture me running here and there with the container in my hands?LOL
Flip, I'm sorry you didn't sell the house. I've been through a couple of sellings with 3 apartments ...one was my mom's ...and I know you need lots of luck , but finally the right peple will come. You just need to be patient!
Dyson and Pepper, get well soon!
Kelli, I'm with E_B about you writing a book, you are so good at writing and the pics are great, I'm sure they're different than the others in those books. About Johnny Weismuller, did you know he was Romanian?
Bernie, what a lovely family picture! Happy Birthday for your grandma!
Kiska, the doll is beautiful. I hope you can find some info about it! I must confess I gogled it too, but no luck.
So here is my new chair.

kelli~the flowers are so pretty. Wisteria is gorgeous.
MySharona~what a great set of pics- darn cute.
As to the doll~
Late yesterday I contacted an appraiser I found through the PBS Antique Roadshow site.
He has responded and says the doll is one called a "traveler". They've been made for more than 150 years in Europe. They are not a toy, but a souviener, so have no markings or numbers on them. The head is of paper mach'e. The doll was finished by "cottage" families as piece work. They made the clothing and accessories. The dolls were popular during WWII, which is when my dad sent this one to mom. This one could have come from France, Belgium or Holland; he was unsure as to country of origin.
There is no value to it; about $40; but holds memories far more than that. The appraiser was so prompt and helpful and really made my day today. It's great knowing a bit more about her.

Jackie, glad to hear you know about the doll now.

Well, job applicants are flocking in, 8 calls today. My daughter is going to make some application forms & send to each one so we have something to start with.
Times must be tough. A couple years ago we were looking for help & got no response.

I built a chicken nest a week ago. Well, it wasn't working out very good so we decided to rebuild it. My son cleaned the pen & I started taking it apart. 5:30 PM, we put fresh bedding in the coop & let the hens back in. Tomorrow we will see if my efforts paid off.

Still 47 & sunshine. Sure like this late sunset. Daylight until 8PM now.

Welcome, Shebs45! It's always nice to have new folk join us. You will find that we are a chatty group and sometimes require several threads a month so be sure to look out for the link to a new thread. Somebody will probably be starting another one in a few days.
Bernie: good luck with finding just the right person to help out in your summer garden business.
Kelli: the flower you called ipheon looks like a Star of Bethlehem to me. They can be invasive. I have them in my hummingbird/butterfly bed along the back fence. I didn't plant them--they just showed up. They sort of die out in the heat of our summers so I don't worry about them taking over my flower bed. That "Brandy" is a gorgeous rose--does it have fragrance, too?
Adina: it's good to see you posting again. That's a nice chair! What an unusual custom you described although it probably doesn't seem unusual to the people in Romania.
Sharon: LOL at Prissy--she's been taking lessons from Celia's Monty!
Kiska: as you said, the doll has more sentimental value to you than anything. It was certainly nice of the appraiser to get back to you so quickly.

It would appear that several of us are enjoying warmer weather this week. According to my car's outside temperature guage, it was 80 around noon today. Friday and I stayed outside for quite awhile this afternoon enjoying this lovely spring day--pollen and all! LOL

I have posted this photo on another forum of the view from my DD's front yard but I don't think I have shown it to all you "peeps". If I did post it earlier, please forgive me. Harrison, AR is in NW Arkansas which is in the Ozark Mountains. However, our highest elevation here is a little over 2700 ft above sea level--certainly nothing compared to where Celia lives!

That is why we decided not to take our dogs--LOL--couldn't figure out a way to get three doggie carriers plus the kids into the cars!

Our high today will be around 60--I haven't figured out how to make the "degree" sign on this laptop since there is no number keyboard to the right. I did it so automatically on the other keyboard that I can't remember which keys I pushed--somebody please refresh my memory--LOL
Anyway, as I was saying, we will be considerably cooler today but the temps will begin to rise again in a day or two. I checked the weather for Tybee Island and they are supposed to be into the 70's most of next week so we should be having good weather while we are at the beach!

Good morning, everyone!

Marilyn, on the side keypad it is alt 0176, but that probably won't work since you don't have a keypad. You can go to your start menu and find Character Map in All Programs --> Accessories --> System Tools. (We use Character Map rather often, so one of the first things we do with a computer (after deleting all of the trial offers for AOL, etc) is drag it onto the start menu so we only have to click on one thing to get there. ^_^) Once it's open, you just find the degree sign and double click it, so it shows up in the box at the bottom, and then choose "copy." Then you can come over here and paste it. It sounds MUCH more complicated than it really is. :-) Once you find it, you'll be able to do it again easily.

I hope you have a WONDERFUL trip!! ^_^

We're all of about 90 feet above sea level here. LOL

Kiska, it was so nice of the appraiser to get back to you so quickly! :-) Antique Roadshow is one of my favorite shows.

Ric, the saw sounds great! And I love geodes. :-)

I love Ikea, too, Adina! Your chair looks very comfortable.

Kelli, I love that freesia. I want to get some more bulb-y plants this fall, and freesia just moved up my want list!

Celia, the heath is beautiful!

Did the hens like their new home, Bernie?

It looks like Sharon's place here today, except the beach is 60 miles away. LOL There's a dense fog "statement". It has burned off a bit since earlier this morning, but it's still hard to see the houses down the road a bit.

I found a new weather site as the old one is always out of date.

Thanks, Marylyn--I never knew that character map was there but then I probably have a lot of things on this computer that I don't know about! LOL
Kiska: gotta have that coffee in the morning. I prefer French Vanilla flavored coffee.
Bernie: no eggs on the floor is good indeed!
Celia: Monty appears to be enjoying the cool dirt even though the Lilac bush is not offering much shade.

It's not foggy here but it is overcast and gloomy--quite a contrast from yesterday!

My bag is packed, the trunk is partially packed, just waiting for the grandkids to bring their bags over after school. We'll leave around 1 p.m. tomorrow as soon as I pick up my DGD after Algebra class--her mom didn't want her to miss that but DGD would much rather have missed it--LOL--she's a smart girl and makes good grades but, like her Ma Susie(me) before her, she does not like math! I was home all day. Caught a bit of a bug last evening.
Feeling fine one minute then BAM! YUCK!
I was still a bit dizzy and had a touch of fever when I got up this morning so I called off.
Been snoozing and reading and just finished a big dinner so I guess it was a 24 hour thing.

Good evening everyone. Stay away for a day or so around here and you can never catch up with this bunch LOL

Kiska: What a sight to see resting under the trees. Are those birch trees with the light bark??? Anyway, that is a great picture. We don't get moose in this neck of the woods.
Sharon/Marsue: Have fun at Tybee. Wish I could be there with y'all.
Marylyn: Thanks for the tip on how to get the degree sign. I haven't tried it yet...just too tired this evening.
Dyson: I am so happy you are going to be able to see your son tomorrow. Have a wonderful time with him and his family. I think that is wonderful. You probably won't be able to sleep tonight thinking about it.
Sharon: Boo is really helping LOL That's the way my kitty use to do. They love to get on the bed when you are trying to make it.
Kelli: I like the peeps. Easter & spring are my favorite time of the year. We have so many trees in bloom here right now and it's so good to see color again.
Kwanjin: Cute picture of Monty.

I am so sorry if I have left some one out, but we had two more showings on the house today!! I had to clean again :-( I have day lillies (sp) coming up like crazy. They have really taken off in the last week or so. Dogwood buds on the trees are starting to swell. Will be popping open before long. Oh...the grass needs cutting now after all the rain we had. Was 73 degrees today before the cold front moved through this afternoon. Bet the temp dropped 15 degrees in about 30 min.

Came home and fried fresh oysters for dinner tonight Yummmmm. We get some good ones up in the county north of us across the York River.

Everyone have a relaxing and restful evening!!

Now
The combination of calm winds and moist air in place has produced areas of dense fog across the area...with a number of locations reporting visibilities of half-mile or less. These conditions will likely persist through daybreak...with fog likely eroding from the north this morning with cold frontal passage. Be on the lookout for sudden changes in visibility. The patchy nature of the fog will drop visibilities quickly in a short distance. In addition...visibilities may become severely restricted near rivers...lakes...bridges...and low lying areas. Additionally... navigation of inland waters...inlets and passes may be hazardous due to restricted visibilities.

Today
Areas of fog in the morning. Partly cloudy in the morning then becoming mostly cloudy. Becoming breezy. High 68. Northeast winds increasing to 15 to 20 mph with gusts to near 30 mph.

The owner said they had 2 showings yesterday & 1 today. Asking $165,900.
With the low interest rates now, it should be affordable.

I advertised on Craigs list for summer help. We had to make up an application & send to the people that responded. I think 8 were sent out. Some called & it was to far for them to drive.

Bernie: You really did a fantastic job on the cabinets and the kitchen. It looks really nice.

Sharon: I had Lantana that looked alot like yours last summer. The plants I had spread low to the ground and had a tiny lavendar bloom. They went everywhere. Is Lantana invasive (sp) there? Good luck on your yard sale tomorrow. I am planning on having one next month. I have been weeding out stuff for the sale for over a year now. We sure have collected quite alot of stuff during the 30+ years we have been in this house and there is no way I am moving all of it to Georgia when we go.

Kelli: That pic of the Fresia is really pretty. I have alot of plants really starting to come up out of the ground now. My columbine and bleeding heart are coming up. The confederate & star jasmine are getting new growth. It's so nice to look around and see everything waking up in the springtime.

Se_eds: I bet your driveway is going to look really nice. Everything cost so much more now than a couple of years ago.

Adina: That looks sort of like knotty pine to me too. Looks very nice.

Out of the showings on the house yesterday...realtor said the second showing we are one of three houses they are considering. Not getting my hopes up...did that last weekend. We get really good feedback but no one has signed on the dotted line yet. All I want them to do when they come is just put the Cashier's check on the table LOL

Kelli, we don't have the white wings, just the mourning doves. I love how they sound.

The juncos are so cute! LOL We call them the Dark Eyed Juncos.

That's a beautiful moon photo, Celia. :-)

We were up late last night watching basketball. Two Big 10 teams' games went into overtime, which was very exciting! Ohio State lost, but Wisconsin won. My voice was hoarse this morning from yelling at the tv - much to the bunnies' amusement. LOL We slept in this morning, and have been cleaning and rearranging the house in preparation for my parents' arrival. They both teach/tutor at a college in Ohio and are coming here for their spring break. Yayy! They are taking their time getting down here and are stopping at parks/welcome centers/whatever looks like fun, so they won't be here until tomorrow. Right now they are either in Tennessee or Mississippi... I will try calling them again in a bit. :-)

It's a gorgeous day here! Sunny and breezy, and the humidity is amazingly low for us - one of those rare days when Kelli's humidity is higher than ours! :-)

I also watched the Ohio game last night. Was out listening to a band play and got caught up in the game during their break. It was one heck of a nail bitter!!

Sunny and really, really nice out. I'm going out to take some spring pics here in a minute.

Kelli: I don't think we have white winged doves either, but we have tons of mourning doves. The other day there were 11 of them lined up on the fence. Being bottom feeders, I have quite a few in my yard under the bird feeders. I spotted a yellow rumped warbler today but the picture didn't come out (darn). Still have quite a few gold finches and they are getting their pretty spring plumage (at least the males are).

Celia: That is a pretty picture of the moon. What kind of camera do you have that takes those pictures.

Marylyn: I think that is so cool the way your folks are taking their time and enjoying their trip. My DH and I have come across many things just by taking side trips off the interstate. I read about things and then I have to check it out :-) Have a wonderful time visiting with them!!

Sharon: Waiting to hear how your moving sale went today.

It was rather cool today and I went to a local nursery. They were having their "Spring Fling" and soooooo many pretty things. Most of them can't be put out yet because our average last frost date is April 15th, so about another month to go. I saw so many people buying plants and I wonder what they are going to do with them. They had signs posted around the platforms where the plants were displayed about warning of frost until 4/15. Tomorrow is suppose to reach 65 and sunny. MAYBE I will be able to practice with my binoc/camera and see if the pictures come out decent. They didn't do so good today...of course I was inside taking them thru the windows LOL

Darkining - been a good day weather wise. Was a great day yesterday visit wise. My son and his family were here. His better half and their daughter were both delightful and beautiful. I can only hope that the next time I see them is not 12 years up the road.

Kelli - they are from Ontario CA - Maybe you are near?

Care to all.

Bernie: Sounds like a very successful day at the Flea Mart. Wow...17 doz. eggs. Must be some really happy hens...what are you going to do with all those eggs? Congratulations on the sale of the house. Wish I could move this one that fast. Have some more people coming tomorrow at 11:00 AM. This really keeps me on my toes.

Dyson: I know you will be remembering this visit with your son and his family for a long time and have great memories. I hope the next visit will be much sooner than 12 years. Maybe this will be a start to more frequent visits...I certainly hope so. Families are so precious and I realize that so much more since I have gotten older. So happy for you!!

Good evening to y'all!!

FlipFlops, I think that white winged doves only live in the desert.

Dyson, Ontario, CA is about an hour or so east of here.

They have downgraded our "rain" to "showers". Still 70% chance, though.

FF, I have a Nikon D60. It's a DSLR and I have several different lenses I can attach. I, also, will be a getting an adapter for the telescope, so I can take better/more pics of sky objects.

How did your sale go, Sharon? We are having one next month. I have TONS to get rid of.

I think I mentioned I'm getting some new roses. Westerland is the top pic, below it is Betty Boop, one of you wonderful DGer's gave me the castor beans and they'll be going with this arbor. I hope the pic is big enough.

Ric Lantana self seeds. Its a pretty ground cover.
Bernie The kitchen remodel is beautiful.
Flip Lantana can be invasive, but it is native to the area. It has become a favorite here due to its love of drought conditions. Doesnt like much water.
Celia We have tons of Mourning Doves here. They are frequent feeders.
Kelli The Freesias are oh so pretty!
Bernie Happy Hen House!
Dyson Im so happy you got to spend time with your son! Make plans for the next visit soon.
Kelli Did you get rain?

Lake Wind Advisory in effect from 10 am this morning to 8 PM EDT this evening...

Today
Partly cloudy and windy. High 67. Northeast winds 15 to 20 mph with gusts up to 30 mph.

Yesterday was almost perfect for the yard/moving sale. Upper 60's with a little too much of a cool wind, but I'll take that over sweltering heat any day. As expected Lisa's (on the corner) ad brought in a lot of sales. The sale started at 8am. By 11am we had sold about 1/2 the merchandise. By 12:30 we had one small table with misc stuff and the other table had about 20 items of clothing. We were done by 1:30. The remaining items will be donated to Barnabas (http://www.thebarnabascenter.org). People were still doing drive-bys at 3pm LOL!

I made $250 - Mitzi made $400 (she sold 2 bedroom sets). I took the remaing day to "chill". I'm heading over to the "new" house this morning to start unpacking boxes then bring them here to reload.

34 here and Sunny.
It feels a LOT warmer.
Going for the mid 60's today ... mid 70's by Tuesday.

Like Celia I have a Nikon. Mine's the D40. All their D series cameras are excellent.
And the lenses are rated Extremely high.

Yesterday was another long one in Dayton.
We got home about 10:30 last night.
But we got a lot done considering...
The kitchen is gutted, a new wall built and rocked.
Cabinets bought and picked up.
Living room ceiling patched, furred and all the paneling removed.

Next trip the cabs go in... the walls will have been mudded, sanded and primed.
Tile goes up and we'll rock the LR.
Demo the Bathroom and rerock...

Here's the patched ceiling... w/ my SO taking her own pictures.

The new wall we had to build.
The originally the house was kit built.
The stupid interior studs are actually a 2 x 4 ripped down in half.
WAY to small in dimension to support anything like cabinets.
So...
