Ok ladies and gents..I need some of your expert help, Im new to peonies (didnt know california even had them!) , How do they grow for u Southern cali people (not coastal so much!) im inland and was told they need afternoon shade from our blazing heat in the summer... will I get blooms this year (they came in packets of tumbers, or bulbs , whatever they are..lol) ? and do I have to plant the eyes under the soil? the box says plant the roots 1 inch under the ground.. and if it has leafy looking thingies coming off of it do those go above or below ground.. i planted mine yesterday and left the eyes out of the ground .. should i go cover them up? thanx in advance!!! (:
