Can anyone identify this pretty leaf? I'm thinking defenbachia but not really the look.

It looks like you have the beautiful variegated Peace Lily: http://davesgarden.com/guides/pf/go/95592/

I thought the only way to propagate Spathiphyllum was by division of root ball. I've never known anyone to propagate by leaf, it should be an interesting experience! Keep us posted if you get roots!

Plantlady-I just checked some pics of peace lily and this looks not at all like them. All of the leaves are elongated, narrow and variegated dark green and creme. It is a very pretty plant even if it doesn't flower.

LOL, maybe I should have put my glasses on before looking at the picture! hmm ... where did you get the leaf? It still looks like Peace Lily to me but my eyes aren't the greatest. I will be watching, and hope someone comes along with a correct ID for you.

I agree that it appears to be the leaf of a variegated Spathiphyllum.
Did you discover that it's something else?
