I am a botanical artist and I am working on a painting of a leek that I would love to be able to include the flower of, which I don't have. I purchased the leek at a market in New Engand, where I live. It was labeled as a Chinese Leek. I believe it is a Leek cultivar, but I don't know which. The stalk, without leaves is roughly 8" long and is 1" thick. With leaves, it is over 20" long. The bulb and lower part of the stalk is streaked with a deep maroon red and the leaves are a dark green. Any idea which variety it is and how I might acquire a Leek scape or seedhead? (or how I might grow this particuar cultivar to get a leek scape or seedhead?)

Sorry, I have no clue. I grow Lancelot and before that, King Richard and neither fit your description.
