I've seen these frogs & always wondered how they were used. I'm not much into flower arranging - in fact I'm a klutz with it. Maybe these can help me out. Or maybe even a class! Thanks for the info.

I think flower frogs were made for "klutzy" flower arrangers... at least, I'm always amazed at how much better my little arrangements work out with a frog!

Some of the newer frogs seem to be pretty lightweight, so either look for an old one with a heavy lead base or stick the frog down with a little blob of museum putty (or perhaps beeswax).

I appreciate the feedback!

Frogs are great! I have a small collection of the old, heavy ones in different diameters and use them all the time, especially when I have only a few flowers to put in a fairly large-mouthed vase.

Gosh, yes... I have some very pretty vases that I would never use otherwise, because it would take an enormous nosegay to look "right." (OK, in summer I do sometimes pick a sufficiently large bunch of daisies or zinnias... but most of the time, it's a few blooms and a frog!)

Perfect timing. I was cleaning out the shed of my new home of all the junk the previous owner left and found one of these. I had no idea what it was but thought it might be useful for something so I kept it. I was thinking it might be a meat tenderizer except it didn't have a handle on it.
Thanks for telling me what the thing is and how they were used. Mine is about 2 inches in diameter and made of metal.

I hope you'll have fun putting it to use with daffodils this spring!
