Just FYI, make sure any freebies you request are from well known companies with a decent privacy policy and not a third party or a site you've never heard of, unless you don't mind your email address being sold to every spammer on earth. Requesting freebies is probably the No. 1 way to get your email address into the hands of spammers.

That is for sure. I donated to a charity once & for weeks I got junk mail daily as well as email. I finally printed a form note telling everyone I knew where they got my name & address & will never donate to them or their source. That pretty well stopped it.

yea most people that do freebies set up an spare email account.. so if there is alot of junk email it goes to that one and not their personal email account..

Edit to say that Walmart is always great about sending the freebies and never share your email address..

Thanks Synda~ for the freebies.. :-)

Thanks Synda and thanks too, Dirt_Road for the news on WM's policy, I am so leery of these things, so now I will go to the WM site with more confidence.

You welcome JuneyBug.. :~)

If anyone is worried about spam or a company selling off your email address, like I metioned before, just get another email to use for freebies.. Gmail and yahoo has free email.. :-) Oh and I don't give my phone number out to companies that ask for it.. Walmart never does.. and they are very good about sending samples.. I mom loves to get samples in her mailbox, so when I am checking out the freebies, I send some her way too. :-)

I didn't give my e-mail address on the WalMart site and it went through ok. I like sample sizes for traveling.
