Hello Everyone, :-)
I recently received these rather huge seeds which were labeled Paeonia Brownii and so, once I FINALLY located them in the PF, I realized that what I have may be something super special since it seemed that there wasn't even a picture to identify it for the world. At any rate, can anyone tell me whether these seeds, due to their HUGE size, need to be sanded, nicked, or soaked overnight prior to planting; whether they are suitable for an 18" pot with good drainage, and--if so-should I plant a single seed or a few together to form a bunching effect. As you all can tell, I am completely out of my element, but I'd love to try to grow such an unusual flowering plant and, from what I know from other plants, can I presume that the clump would need to be pruned back in the fall and transplanted to a "real-soil/garden home" if they can be grown the first year in a large container? Thanks for your help; 'tis greatly appreciated. I gather that Peonies don't all produce seeds which seems interesting to me if true. Why one species only? :-)
Sincere Thanks,
A Budding Peony Grower [Thor]
