Change of seasons in Australia is on the first day of the month, so autumn started 1st March. But where I am the whole spring/summer/autumn/winter scenario doesn't fit in. The Aborigines have 6 seasons here (Whites have 2), based on the responses of nature. Although the weather is going a little crazy (as over most of the planet) we're now in Bangarreng, also called "The Knock'em Down". It's usually after the monsoon (Kudjewk) and when we get storms. The Spear Grass (Sorghum intrans) is up to 2 - 3 metres high, flowering and dropping seed. The storms knock the tall grass down. But this year the monsoon's died early, although there's still a chance (probability) of another burst before the dry season (Yekke). Officially the wet season ends at the end of April.

One of my bunching tulips. It's a true red though the lighting wasn't right to show it.

Spring is hard to notice here at sea level - but look what I saw yesterday "upcountry" . This Jacaranda is way ahead of any of the others - Spring has sprung in Kula!

Good morning Carol! That is Banisteriopsis caapi, a medicinal vine which is the subject of much research lately.

Here is Cochliostema odoratissimum about to bloom!

We are enjoying it very much. The aroma of the wisteria and the roses is wonderful.

Can't compete with the islands.
