I am, after all, your #1 fan! (LOL, now I sound like a stalker.)

You really did a wonderful job on this, Carrie. Now I'm going to have to dig my copy back out and pay closer attention to the plants she mentions! It's pretty dog-eared and battered from lots of childhood love, but I think it can stand another read-through.

You can count all the plants I didn't mention; the ornamental fruit trees, primroses, cold frames (just for you), vegetable gardens, and the WILDLIFE too, butterflies, honeybees, squirrels and on and on.

And now I have a number one fan? What a thrill! Thank you, thank you.

On second thought, maybe I'll send you one of my copies, the one I wrote the article from. It's battered too but I know exactly where it is and I never want to see it again. It's NOT from my childhood; I purchased it specifically to write the article.

Carrie, so glad to see what a wonderful, heartfelt response you've received on this article! I know you've touched a lot of hearts, and just look at the range of ages that have replied! Seems this book is one of those connecting threads woven across the generations.

Now you can print out the comments and hand them to your DD, and say, "So, there!" LOL

I saw that! Early bird gets the worm, I guess. Was it tasty? :o)

But it was the robin finding a worm which led to Mary finding the key . . . so we're all right!
