You're entirely welcome - it was a labor of love. Thanks for the comment! (It looks like we should start a TSG fan club here.)

One of my favorite childhood stories...I have always had a vision in my head of what I thought it might look like and it was always so peaceful and comforting.

I hope I almost did justice to your vision. It's like seeing the movie AFTER you've read the book.

Did you know there were several movie versions and staged musical version? One of my friends is doing it at her school, by total coincidence.

Thank you for your comment!

The 1949 version with Margaret O'Brien - I still cry every time I watch it.

Awww. well if it's on old movie, none of this animated junk, with Disney songs, I guess it's OK. (Who, me? Judgmental?)

I know you've had a bazillion comments on your article - good for ya!! But, I have to say, it reminded me of the reason I joined DG - I needed some hope after 9-11 and this is what our gardens do for us. Again, thanks!

Thank YOU! Sometimes a person needs a bazillion comments. (Especially on an article that took 18 months to write and 21 photographers and Terry saying "this would be the right week, ahem" to complete. I need a midwife!)

What a beautiful article! I read this book so many years ago before I started gardening. I loved seeing the pictures of the European robin & missel thrush, as well as all the photos of flowers. Thank you so much!

Aha! You caught the missel thrush! I'm glad. Someone who was proofreading said "there's a typo near the picture of the grey bird." I said, icily, "Oh, you mean the missel thrush?"

Thank you for your lovely comment.

I did have a video version but it seems to have gone missing...or else the granddaughters took it to their house in which case that is fine. You made my vision become a little clearer...thank you!
