Thanks for this great article, which inspired me to go searching on my porch to find my series of the Reader's Digest Success With Houseplants books! I hadn't looked at them in many years but knew they were crammed into a cabinet out on my enclosed back porch! I used to come across them from time to time and thought on many occasion about sending them to someone else who might want them, but the postage would be cost prohibitive. I also thought about sending them to the thrift store with other donations, but for some reason they are still here, and in pretty decent shape, though the binders/covers are a bit yellow from age. I guess it's just hard to part with some things!
My collection started with the hard cover book that was published in 1979 and shortly after, I began ordering the binders with the card inserts on all the different plants ... great information. Then, all of a sudden, they weren't arriving anymore. I don't know if they just quit publishing them or if they had reached the limit on information, but they were and are very informative house plant books! I am going to spend some time enjoying them once again, thanks to your article!
