Plant Identification: Pretty sure it's a weed but I've never seen one like this.

This weed is kind of pretty and not all that common at least in my yard. I was getting ready to pull it but decided i wanted to know its name first. It's about 5 inches in diameter and about 3 inches tall, reminds me of something you see in a succulant garden. It is kinda soft and not very stiff.

Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks for the guesses!!
I think I am doubting the Desert Chicory, Rafinesquia it doesen't the same colors and the thistle is hard to see in it too. It is the first year it reared it's head.
I am not sure if it is a weed and should be pulled or moved cause it is in the middle of the kids play area.
I have other pics and will post later tonight.

I have a curley dock weed that I grow for the birds. Used to feed the bobwhite when I raised them. It started similar to that pic and there are other dock weeds.
