We had a very wet and cold winter and it seems like things in my yard suffered more frost heave than usual..I noticed today that many of my anemone blanda bulbs were now laying on top of the soil or exposed in soil cracks...some still felt hard a viable, others had plainly rotted, though.
Is there any advice on how to help keep the smaller bulbs in the ground? Should I put down heavier mulch next year..I'll admit they got in so late, I didn't even think to put more mulch over them after I planted..would that have helped?
