My jalapenos last year were wonderful. To my knowledge, they were an unnamed variety. I bought them as plants and they were simply marked, "Jalapeno". They were prolific, hot, meaty and healthy into late October. I saved seed from them, and have started some. Now, after doing some reading in general on seed saving, I'm starting to question my actions. My jalapenos were right next to all my other peppers and I did not do anything special to the fruit I saved for seed. So, am I going to have jalapenos when fruit starts setting or some weird cross? The plants look incredibly healthy, in fact they look as good or better than all my store bought seed. Any insights?
