I am so excited about having an ornamental vegetable garden! I am constructing beds this week and will be transplanting as soon as April 15 rolls around. The potager design includes a "U" shaped bed, 23' x 32'. Inside the "U" is a series of six beds. The outer bed will be 24"H, constructed from dry stacked, chunky fieldstone. The inner beds will be 12"-18" H, shaped by 3 courses of antique bricks. It will include vegetables along with espaliered fruit trees, herbs and a mix of annual and perrenial flowers.
