Happy April 1!

We came from here: http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/t/966430/

We had a major storm move through last night. I slept like a baby LOL! I missed my workout this morning because the power flickered sometime between 4am and now.

Kelli - Your tulips are gorgeous! Maybe I should try growing them too. Stores have been selling them this year, but they never done well here.
Bernie - Smart and Beautiful! A powerful combination!
Pepper - Hang in there! Is the weather supposed to improve today?

There must be 9" of snow out there.
So much for occasional showers...

Thanks for moving us to the new month Sharon.

Ric, nice picture.
I think I might D-mail my friend Badseed. She is always giving me a bad time about living in "cold & snowy" MN.

32 this morning.
I do see a little white out there. Barely covering the ground.
We had everything yesterday. Rain in the morning, sun by 9AM, strong wind during the day & off & on cloudy, then snow flurries last evening. Wasn't to bad of a day though.

Took a little project to a ladies house in the afternoon. She wanted her old cast iron radiators covered. There were 2 like this. She has more she wants done now.

41*, sun came out and it's cold and breezy. Didn't anyone tell the lion it's April?

Happy April Fools Day everyone!

Kwanjin! I saw the X-File show where Fox gets the UFO poster! The show was ''Alpha.'' A thought to be extinct chinese dog was captured, but escaped from the crate on a ship. It was a good show and I haven't seen it for quite a while.

Well, I'm behind again. I read averything, too much to comment on, but I'll get a few in.

I am glad to see I'm not the only one calling the weather brutally cold!! LOL!

Big pats for all the altered pups!

Big hugs and speedy recoveries for the tired, sick, surgeried and injured!

Our Sharon, a bum! ROTFL over that one! ROTFL & L & l over the sheriff. You made my day!! Beautiful rooms!!

Bernie! She's adorable!! Brag away!!

Pity for those with 9'' of snow :o) May it melt fast!!

Bernie, how is Badseed? I haven't seen her on any threads and knew another baby was on the way.

Bernie: your granddaughter has beautiful blue eyes! That photo brings back memories of when my DGD(now 15) was in dance. They are so cute in their dance costumes. Good luck at finding what you need at that auction!
Celia: glad to know that your brother is doing well. Sounds like you need to get some rest.
Sharon, at least you can keep the new chandelier and ceiling fans that you put up in this house the next time you move (although I'm sure you don't want to have to think about moving again for a long, long time!)
Kelli: so sorry you haven't been feeling well--hope you find the cause of the problem. That Scentimental is a beautiful rose. My favorite roses in my garden are Angel Face and Sunsprite because of their wonderful fragrance as well as their color. I intend to take them with me when I move along with several other plants.Your lemon tree is bearing MUCH fruit!
BP: we have such a chatty group that it is easy to get way behind really quick! LOL
Adina; so glad the pups are all doing well!
The showing of my house for realtors went really well. My agent said that about 30 real estate folk showed up and the only negative that any of them had about my house is that it is on a busy street--which I already knew, of course!~ LOL However, there is a new bypass which is to open soon which, hopefully, will re-route a good portion of the traffic which uses this street.
Kiska: I saw on the news this morning that the volcano spewed ash 25,000 ft. into the air. I surely am praying for the safety of all the folks up that way--including you and your family!
We had rain yesterday morning but then the sun came out around noon and the temp went up into the 70's and it was a beautiful day, although a little windy. I managed to get quite a bit of weeding done and a portion of the yard mowed, as well. I need to get out and do some weed-eating this afternoon. It's sunny but a little windy and cool--supposed to warm up into the 70's again today and rain is forecast for tomorrow.
Here's a photo from the Oatlands Wildlife Center outside Savannah, GA. It is a beautiful place with the dogwoods and azaleas in bloom--there were lots of neat animals, too, in more natural settings than in a "regular" zoo.

Happy Fool's Day, everyone! Ric, you are too funny! LOLOL

I had a great weekend, but it is taking me forever to catch up this week. I think I would be coping better if I could get about 12 hours of sleep, all at once. It's not likely to happen, though, so I'm doing as well as I can on 6 hours a night and plenty of caffeine. LOL

I forgot the camera, so I don't have any soggy Virginia photos to share - sorry! It was beautiful, even in the fog. We had plenty of rain here over the weekend, too, so all sorts of things are blooming. I even have one yellow rose right now! (I forgot to prune them... oops!) And of course, lots and lots of weeds to pull. Hopefully I will be able to spend a lot of time out there this weekend getting things cleaned up.

Adina I should have explained as I don't know if Romania celebrates it.
April 1st is here in the US and many other countries also called April Fools Day.
It is a day playing gentle pranks and tricks on Friends and Family.
So the snow shot and forecast was my gift to you.
Actually it was cool but sunny here.

Dave usually celebrates it here.
And though now we search out the prank for many years he got away w/ it.
Here's this year's thread.

Welcome, AnjL! You will find that we are a chatty bunch here on the weather thread and it is sometimes hard to keep up with everything! LOL

Sharon: moving is hard on cats--I've heard that you should keep them inside for at least two weeks after moving. We did this many years ago back in the 70's when we moved but, alas, the first time I let our kitty go outside after we moved, he disappeared and we never saw him again. :o(( I guess he tried to find his way back to our former place which was more than 30 miles away. sniff, sniff

Good photos of the critters, Ric, pepper and AnjL

Celia, so glad your brother is doing so well!! The grape hyacinths are lovely--mine are blooming now, too. I'll post a couple of links to more beach pictures once I get up to my daughter's house this weekend. I'm leaving today and will be up there for about 10 days.

Kiska: so glad the ash has dissipated. Hope that volcano "cools down" real soon!

Bernie: that was a great deal on the scaffolding! I know because my DH was in construction for 30plus years and he bought a ton of that stuff over the years.

It's been an "every other day" rain pattern this week. Rain yesterday, no rain today thank goodness. Should be a nice day for a drive to my daughter's house. It's a 2 1/2 hour drive, but a pretty drive and one I don't mind at all when the weather is good.

Supposed to be up in the 60's today.

Weak wood, prone to splitting, wind tears them up.
But I agree beautiful in bloom.

Kwanjin, good for your brother doing so well! Glad you got some sleep. Pretty coleous leaf!

Marylyn, glad you had a good weekend. Don't you hate to forget the camera!

Adina, I just love hyacinths and those are a lovely blue!

Thanks Bernie, I'm glad she got a boy amidst all those beautiful girls. She's an awesome Mom!

Ric, Dave pulled another good one. I've only gotten in on a few and never took the time to check out the others.

Pepper, that's dreary! Even I would have trouble saying there's a day for everything.

Adina, prayers for DD! It will be interesting to hear about her job if she gets it.

Sharon, did you move north south east or west of your old home? I think we're all going to love your new neighbor!! Yayyy Callie! I love your kitchen! I like the nook, the L shaped counter at the sink and above the cabinet storage!

My Dad's here. I'll have to catch up later.

49*, sunny, WINDY AGAIN and chilly.

another one of those tulips - In case you are wondering why I planted something that isn't supposed to bloom here, it is because they will bloom if refrigerated for 8 weeks before planting. I did that in the fall of 2006 and they all bloomed in 2007. I was going to dig them up for re-refrigeration, but didn't get to it but some of them bloomed in 2008 and again in 2009. I would say that the foliage returned for basically all of them, but less than half are blooming. Still that is infinitely more than were "supposed" to rebloom. The variety is Darwin Hybrids. I'm sure each color has a name, but they just came as a mixture. (BTW, I have tried species tulips that are supposed to rebloom here and they didn't do anything.) It's also a big year for aphids for some reason.

Due to predation, rot and other factors Tulips do less than stellar in many cold areas too Kelli.
We've had some Siberian Rock Tulips for about 10 years.
5 years ago we planted over 200 bulbs of many types.
We had a great first Spring... maybe 12-15 are left now and only in certain areas.
And only in the backyard... had to be squirrels getting the rest.
Wu is death to all small critters there.
I would definitely catalogue the tulips you have blooming... the companies may have a market in your area for them.

48 (Wind Chill 41) the T-Storms pounded us last night. Probably 1" of rain thru the afternoon.
Clearing now... 60 and sunny tomorrow.

Here's a tree only shot.

40 F and very windy this evening with more rain and possibly some snow showers expected overnight. Quite a difference from yesterdays sunny 70F high. I took a vacation day yesterday to take advantage of the nice weather and was able to get a ton of gardening done before going for a long bike ride. The weekend is looking nasty though. Bummer!

Ric...the trees around here are not close to blooming yet but I did notice today the maple buds are beginning to swell. Tulips are mostly a one shot deal here as well. As for the deer, they probably lost their jobs in the country and came to town looking for work.

Welcome, AnjL!

Bernie...There seems to be a lot of cute blue-eyed grand kids on this thread. You got a sweet deal on the scaffolding.

Sharona...The house is looking great. You have a nice touch.

33 & snow!
We are on the northern edge of the BIG storm.

Received an early Easter present yesterday. A couple I did an estimate for back in Feb. called yesterday & said their kitchen was a go. I drove to their house last evening & we went over a couple changes. They gave me the down payment & I finalized the plans & prices tonight. I will mail them the contract Monday. We will finish this one by end of May.

It's always nice to have work ready for when we finish a job. We now have enough until fall.

I planted my early crops in a high tunnel yesterday. Going to get a jump on everybody else!
It will be a couple weeks before planting is done outside.

I awoke, looked at the clock and freaked - thought I was two hours late for work as I am supposed to be there at 3:00 AM. Then of course I figured out that it is Sunday and not Monday.

The Kerosene heater is lit on the porch and in a couple of hours it will be warm enough to continue painting - reminds me I need to get more Kerosene today.

Everyone have a good day, Bernie (and others in the path) careful of the storm. I am going to call up some radar and see how extensive it is. - D

Oh, it was a terrible storm. I'm glad we have the weather liars to keep us safe!
Just getting daylight now & I see maybe an inch of snow some places Lots of bare ground. Long ways from the 6' to 8'' they warned us about.

If I can make it out to the hen house, I need to feed them in a few minutes. They will be talking up a storm. (No pun intended.)

Daughter & SIL got some good deals at the auction yesterday. They said some guy was there bidding like crazy & many times paying more than retail! They got a pile of windows for $7, some laminate for a $1. A pile of boxes of nails for little of nothing. Some lumber also, but almost paid to much.

I bought a load of lumber at Memards yesterday to work on our newest greenhouse. I am going to build a waist high container for strawberry plants. I am done bending over to pick strawberries.

Well, hens are waiting.

Well I posted last night but it got eaten... Dave's kept going off-line.
We have the LR ceiling sanded, the walls primed and the trim mostly up.
The front porch post is repaired and a new light put in.
Kitchen cabs are all in and primed. Counter top installed.
That was a bear as the walls are all wonky.
There are NO 90 degree corners in this place.

Sun is coming out now, 40 at high noon.
What snow there is, is disappearing fast. Winter can't overcome April, no matter what the weather liars have to say about it.
This morning they are saying the snow didn't materialize. I think the weather liars should stick their tiny heads outside once in a while & actually check the weather instead of their instruments.

We put a few cabinets together this morning. I am going to do some paperwork now.

Hi everyone!!! I have been checking in a few times but we have been so busy trying to move. Had to make a trip to Brunswick GA last Mon to meet with the builder. We have an apt. there and know where a storage place is close by in case we need it. Went to the bank to get an acct. set up. Picked out our doors, windows, plumbing and appliances. Then road out to the lot and discussed what trees are to be saved. I have a big live oak and maybe some smaller ones in the back. I won't go back there now because the snakes might be waking up LOL We did all that in one day and then came back to VA the next day. A very productive but exhausting trip. Now we are packing and have the moisture and termite guy coming out tomorrow. We are loading up our stuff on the 23rd!!! Not alot of time. Have to clean out the attic this Thurs.

Weather has been in the 70's the last couple of days and very cooperative for me to line dry my bedskirts and curtains and etc. before I pack them. The azaleas and dogwoods are just about ready to open. I get to enjoy them for one more time!! Did take time to trim back all the winter brown on my holly ferns so the beds would look nice for the new owners. Knock out pink rose bush and butterfly bush are really starting to come out. Also wisteria is showing quite a few blooms. Buyers will have a great time keeping that trimmed on the fence...it grows like kudzu!! LOL

That's it for this evening. I love to read and look at all of y'all's pictures. Everyone has something really interesting going on!! I will try to send a few pics soon of the yard before we move.

Gee, I looked that up on Google maps. That's a long trip!

Snow all disappeared today. Temp is going down.
Not much green here yet. Seen a couple little purple flowers sticking up. Must be Grape Hyacinth. I threw in a whole bunch of stuff in that bed in fall of 2006. It was new then. It was supposed to be an Iris bed. It has everything in it now. Last fall I made a new Iris bed, so far only Iris & a couple mums.
I have hundreds of Dahlia tubers from last fall. I think they made it through storage, so need to find a place for them. Should produce lots of cuts.
I have 3 people coming for interviews this week for part time garden help. 2 guys & 1 gal. Both guys have worked in cabinet shops! Is that a shock. I didn't mention anything about cabinets when I ran the ad.
I am hoping to get some good help in my gardens so we can spend more time in the shop.
The gal only lives about 2 miles down the road. Didn't know her, she just answered the ad & was surprised when we were neighbors. They only moved in a year ago or so.

Tomorrow morning we are off to get the auction goodies.

We noticed a Carolina Wren family building a nest behind the 'Welcome to the Beach House" plaque I bought a couple of years ago. Very cute, but I'm not sure they are planning on staying. We don't use the front door often - only for guests.

You can see the wren standing on the plaque.

Sharon: Your new home is really beautiful. Looks like everything is coming together. Someone else has found a home with you (Carolina Wren) They are so cute and when I hang out clothes, they go in the pockets, sleeves and everywhere. One tried to build in our garage on a shelf last year.

Thanks for the tip on the trees. I have a large water oak that needs to come down. I will check that out. Most trees on the lot are scrubby pines and undergrowth. The builder says the water oaks will die if you come within ten feet of them when you are putting in fill dirt.

Kelli: I must have missed where you were feeling under the weather. I sure hope you are feeling much better now. Your pictures are absolutely beautiful. You have so many pretty places out there.

Bernie: You are so busy!! I get tired reading what all you have done LOL Sure hope you find just the right help that need. Sounds like you have some good prospects.

Sharon: the house is looking great--your decorating efforts are certainly paying off. Love the new chandelier! Great bird pics, too.
Celia: how nice that you are getting a new greenhouse!
Kelli: sure hope you feel better soon! The Arboretum photos are beautiful!
Ric, the travertine is lovely. You and Robyn have certainly been busy--things are looking great at your place, too!
Bernie: glad you survived the "blizzard" LOL. Isn't it nice to have work lined up for several months ahead?
Dyson, did you finish painting the floor? Realizing you don't have to go to work is like getting a bonus vacation! LOL
FF: sounds like your move is progressing nicely--you must surely be one organized lady!
Kiska: hope things are going okay up your way--what is the volcano doing today?

Things are much colder here in Harrison, AR today. Our high is forecast to be 43 with a low down in the 20's tonight--BRRRR. This yo-yo weather we have had the last couple of months is crazy! I hope it doesn't get as cold down in Cabot where I live because I went off and left several potted plants on the patio--they will surely freeze if it gets this cold down there tonight. All the redbuds and dogwoods are in bloom up here, too, so I hope they don't get frostbite.
It was really windy yesterday and more in store for today and tonight which makes it "feel like" it is considerably colder than the actual temp.

Bernie, nice to know you have work for a long time.

Ric, your floor looks awesome! Robyn is doing wonderful work.

Mau, I hate this weather, too. It just needs to be Spring and leave Winter behind for now. We've had this GH in the garage for 3 years. I got tired of waiting and just started digging! LOL Darrell came over to see what I was doing and then pitched in. LOL Now we need to get the foundation set so we can put it up. It's only 6' x 6', so it will go fairly quickly.

Sharon, you can help me decorate anytime! LOL I love your new house. Those extra touches make it beautiful. Lucky you!

You know the one - when they look at a room and say "You need this here or that there and in this color, in a stripe... blah blah blah". I buy what I like then add to those items one piece at a time. I like the look I get which is eclectic/comtemporary/antique and whimsical LOL! I love a touch of whimsy in the most unusual spot.

We're under a freeze warning here.
It's still 41 (Wind Chill 33) so we may well not see it.
Dayton will for sure.
It's 37 (Wind Chill 30)
From the radar it appears to be snowing in Columbus (about 70 miles north north east)

I saw a few flakes today but we mostly had a cold drizzle.
The Reds did get the opening day game in... lost 2-1.

Most of the stone is grouted... w/ this grout the haze buffing takes place 48-72 hours later.
So it looks a bit strange now.

Bernie...You did well! Auctions are great unless there are people there bidding more then retail.

Kelli...Love the blooming tree. I have a crab apple here that will look like that...someday. :{ The daffodils are blooming here now and the heavy wet snow will smush them flatter then a pancake.

I have a question for Bernie and Ric. We're setting up our GH this week and would like recommendations for flooring. It has a square metal frame. We've leveled the ground and will put down weed cloth and sand. Now what? Gravel? Wood? Also, it has ground anchors but I'm not sure if that's enough to hold it down.

Sharon, he looks surprised! LOL

I would love to have cedar in the yard. It smells wonderful.

I've used chipped wood & crushed rock. Wood chips come from a crew that goes & trims trees along power lines. Best part, they are free!
If the weed blocker is thick enough, you can just walk on it. Use some big wire staples to hold it in place. Some weed blocker comes with staples or make them from # 9 wire.

Sunshine & I hope warmer today. We will be working on a greenhouse also. I need that baby up!

How big is it Celia?
Ground anchors, even auger screw types, can pull out.
I've seen them use landscape timbers, cinder blocks or cement for the foundation. Then achor the house to them.
It all depends on how much wind you get routinely.
Gravel, pavers or wood chips is probably a personal choice.
Each have their merits.
Mine has decking... but it's on a roof... lol!

39 F here cloudy and snowing.

Sharon, that little bird is cute. I wish we got more exciting birds than sparrows and finches. We get the hummers and an occassioal hawk. I saw one blue jay when we moved it and the nnothing. The goldfinches are moving in slowly.

I'll have plenty of pics when the GH is done. We still have to find out how to make a frame for the floor. It has the metal frame that we want to attach wood to it so we can make a wood floor for stability and then a rubber mat with holes in it for drainage. A trip to Lowe's and we'll find out how to do that. This is fun trying to do new things! LOL

45F And sunny this evening. Most of the snow is melting after 2 days of lake effect snowfall. I shoveled the past 2 mornings before leaving for work. I hope that was the last of it until next winter. We are expecting a high of 50F with sunshine tomorrow--the warmest day in the 10 day forecast. Low 40's and sun expected for the weekend.

Kiska...When you husband starts selling those I need one for my wife!

Kwanjin...Greenhouses don't weigh very much and can catch a lot of wind. I would probably dig some holes with a post hole digger, fill them with concrete and anchor that baby down.

Kelli...I like that Paintbrush Lilly. I doubt if it would grow here though.

All our greenhouses are anchored with short posts. A post goes in the ground about 2 ft. Then the hoops are fastened to that. So each hoop has 2 anchors, one on each end. Never had one move yet.
In the picture if you look closely, you can see the connector piece about a foot off the ground.
We get lots of wind here.
Also put some wind braces on the ends.

I've been having some puter issues since the last T-Storm.
Finally called tech and they are sending a pole guy out tomorrow.
Hopefully this will resolve the 'dropping' issues.

Kiska I love that stained glass!
Good news on the Volcano!

Bernie things look snug and warm in there!

Celia what pretty blossoms!

e-b such a nice shot. Hope it's the last 'Winter' one...lol!

55 and mostly Sunny today.
We should hold about 60 for the next week or so.
Last freeze warning is tonight.
So far we haven't been hit.
Everything looks good... no freeze burns.

Yep Badseed had one of those take off a few years ago.
Beautiful units and the work great.
But unlike Bernie's setup they don't bleed wind well.
I'd anchor to a wood frame or do the concrete post like e_b suggested.
Good Luck w/ that and have a barrel of fun Celia!

Celia: isn't it nice to have DGers to give us advice on our gardening projects, etc? I like the "bunny trail" photo!
Kiska:; looks like your DH is getting into the glass making business, too. He did a good job! Glad things are better for you all up in Alaska re: the volcano, etc. Your snow-covered mountain pics are always lovely to look at!
Ric: that's a pretty daffodil--I don't recognize the other flower but it's pretty, too
EB: your photo of the "last winter scene" is lovely--as are all of your photos!
Bernie: I know several Central Arkansas DGers who would love to browse through your greenhouses. We get together a few times a year and go to several greenhouses in our area--in fact a group of Mid-South DGers is going to a greenhouse in Jackson, TN the last week-end in April.
Adina: congratulations to your DD on the new job!
Sharon: I like almost anything chocolate!

Yesterday was a beautiful day here in Harrison, AR --71 and sunny-no wind. I planted 3 small shrubs in my daughter's front flower bed. There's a lot to do around her house when it comes to flower beds. She and her husband aren't gardeners so I get to do whatever I want to do as far as flowers, shrubs, etc., are concerned. I have big plans. . .stay tuned! LOL

OK I've found out the phone line works better when it's in one piece.
Seems we crushed it in all the moving around we've been doing.
So I went ahead and rewired the computer room... now no more cords to crush.
Once we tear down the ceiling in the LR we're going to rewire the whole house.
AND run all the speaker cords and such up there too.

Thursday was a seriously long day.
Robyn had been up north working on the house since Tues.
I left for work at 6:30 then drove up there at 3:30. The sink was in but no plumbing done.
It was by 8:30 when we left... lol!
No tools though. I thought Robyn had taken my plumbing bag.
so w/ pliers and an 80 year old 8" pipe wrench ... we have water.
They got the LR, Hall, Kitchen and one BR sanded and painted.
The new ceiling looks Great!
But we will NOT let them do any more mudding.
WAY too much mud used and subsequently WAY too much sanding.

Here's the Kitchen. The tile is now done.
All the termite damage under the window repaired and a new ledge put up.

Thanks Celia!

If you need any more Spiderwort let me know.
We have about 10 different ones.
I love them and they are bee and butterfly magnets.

Bought 2 more Hummer feeders today.
At about 3 bucks a piece I consider them annuals...lol!
Not worth cleaning and storing... get just as many Hummers as our fancy fancy ones.
They'll be going up this weekend.

Ours are in both.
The Sweet Kate (blue flowered version of your Sunshine Charm) does VERY well in full sun.
Other green foliage ones do well in partial to deep shade.
The hardest to grow are the white flowering ones.

Today was another 80F here, looks like were in midsummer. It reminds me to april 2007, which was the warmest month of the whole year. The evening is much cooler now, though.
Southern Spain had only 39F yesterday at noon, so the contrast is huge.
We used to think that such extremes only happen in the USA, but we'll need to reconsider that.

I have planted my bananas and other tropicals in the garden yesterday, so I hope there won't be any frost the upcoming weeks...

Most perennial plants are picked for their Max usability (selling power) .
Zones 5-7 (biggest market)
Annuals 10+ I'd say... so seeds are usually readily available.
CA Poppies come to mind.
Zone 8-10 Perennials or Fire Ephemerals aren't going to be a big seller except out there.
Plus most of the plants you are posting have a very limited bloom period.
That to me makes them special and very worth growing
but I like a varied and everchanging Spring landscape... many people (casual buyers) do not.
So you basically get a lot of same-o same-o for sale.
That's what's fun here... we can trade plants around.

Ric & Bernie The stuff you are both doing looks great. The house here was built in 1900 and this apartment added in 1930. Where the house and apartment attach has "sunk" so the floor is not level. At first it really feels weird but after awhile you do not notice it so much.

The first coat of paint is on the porch & while it may not be the worlds best looking job I feel better about the wood being somewhat protected now.

I have not planted anything here at all - need to be thinking about what and where soon.

henryr10,

The buddha fingers is also known as Citrus medica var. sarcodactylus
It's been used in eastern countries for the very aromatic husk, for preparation of meals. Many years agoo, it was also used for perfums and cosmetics, but today they're replaced by chemicals. The funny thing is that the fruits have a strong smell, just as if it were flowers. Even if I 'm sitting 30 feet from the tree, I can smell its typical citrus flavour in the air while there are no flowers blooming.

Here in Belgium we also put the musa basjoo in a cage with straw, leaves and other isolation. But when it's a hard winter like we had this year, the protection is worthless. Many exotic gardeners lost their banana trees despite their isolation, even those who put christmas lighting around the banana stems. I have put the bananas in my greenhouse and they survived without problems. I'm curious for this summer because they're in plain soil for the very first time (last year they were growing in containers).

The heat wave is still continuing here, temperatures will rise to around 75F till thursday, then there will be a major temperature drom till 50F, so difficult times are coming up for the bananas and buddha's fingers.

I found a temperature map of the heatwave in april 2007, today it's quite similar in Europe :)

We had a good bunch of food today. Pies, Ham, & all the trimmings. Life is good. MIL, all kids & Grandkids were here. Full house.

I did go out this afternoon with a disk & blacken a little ground. We plan on planting potatoes & onion plants this week. Soon we will be planting something every day!
