Here is the transformation. I did just part with this because I found a beautiful french sideboard to put in its place and don't have a sunroom. But I got $50 for it and that is half the money for my sideboard.

Here are some watering cans I did with decopaug. Excuse my spelling. I used printed pictures from a computer on some and cut outs of those great plates in magazines. Put a high gloss spray on them.

Here's my not really trash find, but none the less an excellent buy on Craig's list for $100. It is a French Farmhouse sideboard (that is what I call it anyway) It is totally stripped to the natural cherry wood and I only put paste wax on it. I got a double roll of free beautiful Victorian wallpaper to line the drawers and cabinets today on our local Freecycle group I started.

Here's a good use for an old ladder, also from Freecycle for garden art. I also made one for a local store to support a no kill shelter for animals.

We built our home six years ago. We didn't want to lose our view or block any of it, so put the wrought iron in the fence. One part near my patio has a mural I painted. One part on the side of my house is terracotta and I want to paint it all that color, it looks rich and brings it in a bit to make the yard cozier. I will get around to the garden forums soon and post some pics of my garden. Right now my Wisteria (behind the ladder art) it just starting to bloom. I should note my trellis is made from rebar!

I love all your work, the watering cans really got my eye, I have an old milk can borrowed from a dairy in Minnesota back in 1972 and never did anything with it. Not artistic, but I have done decopauge before. Maybe I should try that. Wonderful ideas and please do share them with all of us.

Yes, I did just join, but only the free part, so I see I have to pay a subscription price if I want to access some forums, but better than a garden magazine right?
I live in ARIZONA, high desert of Kingman. We do get snow, I have lots of pics of that too, this was our worst and coldest winter since the 50's I heard. I even had a black ice run off the road accident. WE are one hour from Lake Havasu , but a world of difference.
On the watering cans. I was told my a freecycle member yesterday that there is something you can get to make a picture a decal, I remember doing that in the 70's for a crib I painted and i wanted to put Bambi on it. This would make it look even more hand painted. So you might want to check into that.

Thanks curvesarein, will check around for that. Your snowman is so cute, and really love his shoes. So many people think they are ugly, but so comfortable. I have been wearing them for so long now.

Sammut, your climate must be like mine, no snow. I grew up in lots of snow so I really don't miss it now, especially the cold that goes with it.

Sammut, I'm not letting hubby see the pic of your run about as he thinks he should own a fishing boat. Well, he bought one several years ago for cheap, but needs a new inboard motor. He never works on it, but always talks about getting it running. I don't think that will ever happen, now it is an eye sore parked on the side of the house.

Well girls, we've been busy. I have a friend in Australia too, email buddy who lives on a boat. I've taken vacations on a Yacht a friend had four years in a row in Long Beach Harbor when raising our children, those are our best memories.

Ok now for the project I wanted ideas on, ask on another thread and looked around here.
This is what hubby and I came up with. I will post a pic. I bought the base for $30 and we repainted. I traded some stained glass for an oak leaf, we ripped apart to use for top and the marble I purchases years ago from the same antique dealer. I remember one of his employees telling me about his kitchen island and I saw a picture in a magazine later. I love it, and great for making pie dough and pizza dough, the marble that is. Well when I cook , which isn't often. LOL I'm too busy creating. Now to find another base for a potting bench. Hubby likes that idea, so maybe I can finally get him to build me one.

omgosh! That is a FANTASTIC idea!

that deserves it's own thread! :0)

I love it, love it, love it...

I have two of those old sewing machines...one is missing the sewing machine, but I got it for such a good deal, I couldn't pass it up. Now I know what I can do with it!!

I seem to find those all the time. Supposedly in this recession people are reconsidering things and are dumping these off, because they are just tired of lugging them from house to house as they move, and tired of them taking up space.

One thrift shop told me she can't GIVE them away...

Now I need to go on a sweing table buying binge!, lol...

The outdoor fireplace I left rusted and used craft paint from walmart to put the sun, this got regifted to a Ranch.
As for the kitchen island, how would I start a new thread? Also I would love to buy another one, if you can get them cheap in Texas I could pay shipping, I hear they come apart. usually shipping from Texas to AZ isn't too bad. I also saw a entry table made out of one, a plant stand and I want to make a potting bench with small bakers rack above.

starting a new thread is easy: you just go to the forum you want to post it on, and scroll down to the bottom of the page. Fill in the blanks with your title and then the next box is your comment.

Then follow the prompts like preview and send, just like you do when you post to an existing thread.

Anyone not following this particular thread will not see your table. I just thought the table deserved its own thread, so anyone looking at this forum could notice it. ;0)

I'll let you know if I find anymore dirt cheap. That is if I don't want to buy more for myself, LOL!!!

Check your local craigslist, too. I found a bunch of them on there at Christmastime, but haven't really looked since.

Don't know if anyone is still lurking here, but I scored 17 windows from freecycle and we are going to build a greenhouse. I put stuff in the greenhouse forum, not that I am a paying member.
I also found another sewing machine, the whole thing and genuine singer treadle all intact for $30. We were driving around on Monday and I spotted it in someones driveway. He said he would have to ask his wife. Never heard anything, so stopped by again and left my card and phone number. He called tonight. We are picking it up friday, it will become a potting bench or a plant stand for the patio. I picked up some nice laminate out of someone's garbage I may put on top or I have black marble tile from freecycle too.
