Your article brought back so many memories for me. We spent about a week in Holland back in 1967 as part of a 6 week European stay. It included a couple days at Keukenhof and being there for the tulip festivals in surrounding communities. It was one of the highlights of our trip. I loved seeing your photos and reading about your visit. They have made changes, of course, but the beauty of the flowers is still the same!

What a great photo! Thanks for sharing it... I can just smell those hyacinths!

6 weeks in Europe... you must have so many wonderful stories and memories of that trip!

Thank you so much for sharing the Keukenhof Gardens. My parents are from Holland and I have been there 3 times but always missed the tulips. My sister and myself want to take a trip to Holland during tulip season and we are really hoping it will be soon. I am going to email your article on the Gardens to get her dreaming and skeeming on how we are going to get the money together to go.
Thank you again.

I was happy to find out that while I may have missed the big outdoor tulips displays by going when we did, there were still thousands of tulips in that pavilion!

I hope you and your sister get to go SOON... it's just beyond description. :-)

When we were in Holland, we went also went to the festival and parade at Hillegam, between Amsterdam and Keukenhof, if I remember correctly. All the floats were made with tulips and daffodils and other spring flowers. Our stay in Holland was one of the highlights of all trip. I hope we can go back again at the same time--such a beautiful country in the springtime! When winter in Iowa seems to long, I like to look back at all these photos and remember that special Springtime. Oliver, I hope you'll be able to go soon and see your parents homeland.

Oh, that's just spectacular. I'd love to see the tulip fields in bloom, also. :-)
