Wondering if anyone has bought a window insert panel for their exsisting garage doors?

Not surprisingly, the building materials store wasn't very informed about their special order products they sell. But I contacted the manufacturer who basically said to have the store call them or I could call a dealer in my area.

I'm looking at the Cloplay garage doors but I already have a good double solid door. I'd just like to add the panel with the Colonial cut windows. Cloplay said that is a special order item.

Has anyone else have added these after market?

Have not added windows, but have replaced panels in an overhead door. This should be the same process.
Cloplay will supply complete instructions. We (Fil & me) did it without any - only took a hour or so.

Excellant Bubba, thank you!

Now---wonder if it matters what brand of door you have? Can't make out any markings on mine? Will have to contact manufacturer.

If the replacement panel is the same dimension as the one you are replacing, you should be able to use the existing hardware. That is how we did it.

Measured everything - length, width, depth, spacing between panels, etc. Relaxed springs, and lowered door.

We clamped the existing panels to the rails, then removed the rollers and hinges from the existing panel, but NOT the adjacent panels. Then removed the "bad" panel. I

nserted the replacement, and adjusted spacing with shims to match the original, then marked, drilled and attached all hardware. Finally removed clamps and checked operation.

We did have to make some minor roller adjustments - the hardware was slotted to allow for such adjustment.
