I was just there at Kukenhof last week! From the looks of the Statue of Liberty in your photos it must have been about the same time you visited. One of my favorite things at the garden, besides the flower pavilions! and the giant trees! -- was that three-panel, green glass and mirror garden art. The lime green color looked great and it was fun to see the way it was set up to make interesting reflections. They must get lots of comments on that particular piece because the label said NOT FOR SALE. I took a picture of that, to keep the artist's name and do a little research on her. Which I have not done yet... Thanks for your article about Kukenhof. I also found it a wonderful outing and was so pleased to see the Dutch/American associations commemorated.
Oh, how did I miss that one? My favorite sculptures were these little colorful gossamer "boats" blowing around in the breeze.
I was actually a little disappointed in their art... they are widely billed as a "sculpture garden," and while they certainly had lots of sculpture, almost none of it had been incorporated into the plantings in any way that I could see.
