Now, thanks to Ken, I have a name for one of my recalcitrant orchids, Aliceara Sunday Best 'Muffin'. Perhaps some of you good folks may have the secret to making it bloom. I have cats, Brassos and laleias (most of the parent plants) and seem to do okay giving them what they need (they are blooming and putting out new growth), but my 'Muffin' is over 5 years old (purchased at a big box) and has not bloomed. It is SLOWLY putting on some new growth, but no blooms.
I know that often, the orchids that wind up in a lot of the box store market are from the floral trade and can be rather elderly. The propagation date on this one is March 17,2000. I purchased it in 2003 or 2004.
Any suggestions?
Jean
