This isn't really home repair, but I've come into possession of a metal, hand-cranked, meat grinder. It's only problem is that the screw part and the inside of the grinder are rusty. Any advise on how to get rid of the rust? Thanks.

Naval Jelly. It will stabilize the rust.
Wire-brush it first to remove as much loose rust as possible.
Wash and dry as directed after using the Naval Jelly..

Since it will be used for food, use a good kichen oil to coat it, then wipe dry with paper towels between grindings.

Luanne, there is also a disinfectant that is mineral oil (food grade) based that you can use to clean it once the Naval Jelly routine is done. This keeps it from spreading bacteria while preventing future rust. I can't recall the brand name of the product, but most kitchen supply places should have it.
