I've just been searching Daves for information on Gayfeather. While cleaning the gardens, I ended up with this lumpy thing that had green shoots in it. I didn't shred it with the leaves but put it in a pot with dirt. Later, in another garden area, I found another one and realized it's the Liatris. This one needs to be moved because the Dogwood has spread too much and is overtaking the plant. So, it too is in a pot with soil. Now the question. These lumps can apparently be separated? How? Should I keep them in nursery pots? Get them in the ground now? Is it too late because they've started budding already? I'd like to save these plants at least, but it would be good to multiply them as I have only had the two plants for a few years and they were in different areas of the yard, and I would plan differently today if I could. Help would be really appreciated as it always is on Daves. Thanks.
