WILDERNESS FIRST AID: TWO-DAY CERTIFICATION COURSE
Saturday, May 2 and Sunday, May 3, 2009
8 am - 6 pm
AT the Aldo Leopold Natue Center Black Earth Campus

Are you prepared to handle an emergency medical situation when dialing 911 is not an option? This Wilderness Medical Associates course will teach you how! Wilderness medicine differs significantly from standard first aid courses that are oriented toward the urban environment. This is a great course for outdoor educators, youth adventure leaders, parents, and anyone who spends time in the backcountry. Instructional sessions will be held indoors and outdoors. Lodging in a 3-story cabin and space for tent camping are available on-site for an additional $15/night. Meals are on your own with a full kitchen available. Class size is limited so please register early! Students must be at least 16 years of age. Participants under 18 must have proof of parental consent to participate. This program is co-presented with Rutabaga Paddlesports.
ALNC Members & Non-Members: $225/person

For more information or to register, contact Rutabaga at 800-472-3353 or email classes@rutabaga.com

It's good to know what to do in an emergency. I'm a retired EMT and worked with the fire service so I'm pretty comfortable with it but a lot of folks aren't. It can be scary.
