Hello! I would like to know what this plant is? Its leaves are a bit similar to that of the coffee tree's, but they are very harsh and hairy and hard. I brought it from Greece 2 years ago; it had grown along a roadside.

Thank you very much!

Looks like Loquat to me also. There are eight listed in the Plant Files database: http://davesgarden.com/guides/pf/adv_search.php?searcher[common]=&searcher[family]=&searcher[genus]=eribotrya&searcher[species]=&searcher[cultivar]=&searcher[hybridizer]=&searcher[grex]=&search_prefs[blank_cultivar]=&search_prefs[sort_by]=rating&images_prefs=both&Search=Search&searcher[genus]=Eriobotrya so I'm not sure which variety you have there.

This is the one that grows here in my area: http://www.floridata.com/ref/E/eriobot.cfm. My neighbor has these trees all along the fence in the backyard and they sprout up in my lawn on occasion. The fruits on her trees are a small variety but tasty. A lady I worked with many years ago used to make a jam with the fruit and she said the fare it took lots of the little fruits to make a batch of the jam.

It won't be hardy outdoors in Romania, unfortunately
