Last year I grew birdhouse gourds and they got the mosaic virus and attracted cucumber beetles. I'm going to clean them out sometime this week and I am planning on throwing the seeds away from 25 gourds. If they are safe to replant, it would be a shame for me to throw all those seeds away.

Thank you!!

Why not try one hill of them and see...the rest of the seeds will last for years should the first ones come out alright. I'd like to know the answer to this question myself. Jo

Thank you for your response to both of my questions! I will plant a few hills at the back of our yard with some radishes. Thanks so much!

I've never heard of them getting mosaic virus, what does that look like? Did the leaves get it or the whole gourd? I'm just curious, and maybe I need to be checking for that, for all I know mine could of had it at some time and I thought it was just mold.

The only real problem I have had with my gourds...besides the Javalina eating some of them...is that we don't seem to have the type of night moth that pollinates them. Jo

Gourd,
Sorry for the delay in response. I haven't been on the computer for quite a while. The mosaic virus mostly impacted the leaves. I'll look through the pics on my computer in a while and see if I have a picture.
