Hi All.
I have a question for the experts, and I hope you will tolerate my ignorance.
I have 2 giant hoyas. They have been grown in 4 years from some cuttings from my mother.
My Grandmother had this hoya growing in her kitchen bay window for umpteen years and it was actually her "curtain" it went up boths sides and over the top! My mother did the same thing in a bathroom window. Both had to be left due to moves- but I was given the rooted cuttings.
Ok so with that backround- Mine are now wrapped around homemade tripod trellis's on both sides of my bathroom window. I dont want to inter mingle them to go over the top and grow together- but they continue to send out long vines- which spiral together. So far I have wrapped and tied and wrapped and tied- but I believe I am about at max capacity! SO - finally -
MY QUESTION- Can I cut them back, without sacrificine blooming? my mother told me I could cut them, but that they then will lose a bloom cycle...
While I am at it- I I have them in pots (wholes in bottom) that are in bigger "Nice pots" so when I water- they sit in it. so far I have not overwatered and they are growing well- but I do notice that many of the vines it sends out- do not have many leaves... they are bare.
It is blooming now- and it smells awesome in the evening- I'll include a couple pics.
Thanks for any help you can give.
