I have a large Elephant Ear PLANT (2 bulbs)- It is currently about 5 feet tall and the largest leaf is 26 inches right now. This has been growing from the bulb since last spring. I do not remember the exact type of Elephant Ear, but I bought it from Plant Delights Nursery and I THINK it was supposed to grow 9 + feet. It may be Colocasia esculenta Jack's Giant or Xanthosoma Sagittifolia but I cannot say for sure. I just remember wanting a HUGE plant!

It DID FLOWER about two weeks ago from one shoot- I am pretty sure that more flowers are to come, there are a few shoots and babies now too!

I need to get rid of this because we are getting a kitten and this is a toxic plant. I was going to put it outside after Mother's Day/frost. It needs to stay potted though because the bulbs are so large. The pot is from English Gardens and is NICE and heavy. It needs around 3 gallons of water per week and plant food 1x a month.

I am open for trades... Rasberry bushes, Arisaema, Canna, Helleborus, Trillium, Sarracenia, a Banana, Hardy Bamboo, anything unusual for outdoors or indoors I do need a tall plant that does not need much light for my basement rec room, etc- (as long as it's not toxic to my cat!)

I live in Birmingham - See Criaglsilt post 1132320145 (detroit) for more pictures!
